    The fifth?

Why stop with Trump and his dogs Vance, Kash, Kennedy, Bondi, etc? May as well take out his employer Vlad, too🙄 💣
  6. Reminds me of those two (middle-aged?) guys who used to drive around here in a vintage van with huge speakers on the back blasting reggae or something, must be years ago.
  7. I don’t think there will be legislation to force people to security lock their cars this way. Not that I think it is a bad idea!
  8. If this was a business, Dragons’ Den would snap it up!
  9. Was there any attempt by the gym/provider to harvest requirements/opinions/preferences from the gym-using cohort before the detail of these works were commissioned, to ensure they're a pertinent fit for the gym-using community at that location?
  10. Large family (myself and 17yr old) house with good communal space and garden. Near Lordship Lane (4mins), William Rose/Franklins. Easy parking usually. One room a good double, the other a large double. Could be separate lodgers, possibly a couple, or maybe will end up with just one lodger. Ideally lodgers who go out to work/neg. Shared bathroom initially, until 2nd bathroom installed (spring). After that the current bathroom will be for the lodger(s). No smokers, shoes off, contact me if interested and we can have chat - pls be specific about your reqts. Rent will depend on what we agree on; term, whether Mon-Fri or full week, etc. Bills extra. Available around early March. PM only pls.
  11. I’d be interested in knowing how the LTNs have fared in terms of achieving their aims, as a resident negatively impacted by increased and speeding traffic since their introduction. I suppose I am hoping that there is some reliable measure which shows they “worked“, which will make me feel the misery on my street at least has an upside for somewhere else in the area. Otherwise it all seems totally in vain. I only have 34yrs of being a resident to go by however, which may be no match for Council data. I’m not interested in seeing these attacks by people trying to close-down other posters though, regardless the justification. If somebody wants to attack me, could they please have the spine to do it by PM so that at least we can discuss it maturely.
  12. I think it goes in cycles / is constantly changing. There was a time when there were three butchers on Lordship Lane (OK, incl. the one on North X Rd.) but they all closed, because of the new Sainsbury’s on the hill. Absolutely decimated Lordship Lane grocery shops, too - and the two fishmongers in early 1990s. But eventually new shops opened as opportunities were seen. It’s easy to look at a tiny slice of time and conclude that was the golden era. If anything, the opening of that Sainsbury’s changed the fundamental way the lordship Lane as a collective of shops could operate going forward. Having witnessed that, it brought home to me the damage these large commercial corporations do to the livelihoods of shopkeepers; corporation margins > business futures of dozens of community / local (in some cases life-long) shops. It’ll be changing still in 50yrs time. I loved Dave the butcher, et cetera, but nothing last forever.
  13. From memory the guy was selling a faulty pair of AirPods some months ago. Try searching past posts.
  14. Perhaps ask around where you saw the story unfold, and establishments thereabouts.
  15. It?s written on the postal ballot pack.
