your female intuition is correct Lady Muck. I am indeed a she. i'm not overly worried about ageing - it is a natural fact of life but I'm interested in how it changes a person and what it means to others to reach this milestone. The mainly male perspective given here has given me some insight into what i expected, in that men generally don't give an arse. But women are usually more susceptible to these kinds of issues but by the time we reach 40 are we still bothered.

I'm curious about how people feel as they head towards the age of 40. Do men and women react differently? Is 40 the new 30 - as people keep telling me. What are the pressing issues that concern people? Is it all a cliche or should i really be worried? TRB

I am sure this has been addressed on EDF before but just wanted to know if anyone could recommend a hairdresser that can deal with a child that quite possibly really won't want to have a haircut. So, someone with a quick hand and ability to distract would be ideal. Thank you. TRB
