  1. Morning All, A question for folks who have sash windows and have had interior box shutters installed: when your windows were measured for the boxes was consideration given to replacement of sash cords? In particular the removal of the beading holding the window in place will be made trickier by the presence of a box shutter, and impossible with the box frame measurements we've just been given by Hillary's. Any experience or advice you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chris
  2. If anyone is interested I have tagged @lb_southwark in a twitter thread to let them know we are unhappy about it. Please add your thoughts https://twitter.com/cmphysics/status/1676296762896576531?t=_U3HsajX5jPoa4VLdyHZqw&s=19
  3. Exactly this. It is impossible to leave a response that says you don't want a CPZ. Shame on Southwark. Any law talking people out there know what we can do?

  7. We've been in the house 8 years, and only had one flood when an outside drain was blocked. Since then it's been fine.
  8. Office and storage was the plan. I've done some research into costs and it's beyond my means. But there's always the lottery or the moribund secret millionaire uncle to rely on.
  9. We're in the middle, near Underhill Road. Our cellar has two raised areas either side and a 5ft wide path down the middle dug out to about 6'6" below the joists. Our floor is modestly damp in the summer, and dries out in the winter. I might try water diviniation in the morning, or perhaps pray for divine guidance.
  10. thanks, I might pop down tomorrow and have a nosy.
  11. Evening all, Does anyone have experience of or knowledge of cellar dig outs and conversions in this area, particularly Upland Road? We're looking into it but would like to hear from someone who's had it done in this area, or knows someone who's gone through it and particularly if everything went smoothly on the dig and build, and what's happened since. Cheers, Chris
