  1. Hi, I need to get my laptop repaired before it dies - any recommendations please??
  2. GUitar and case now with Peckham police station.
  3. If you have lost a guitar today, left in Choumert Rd Se15 please message me with description. Will take to police station in a couple of days.
  4. "The Aylesham Centre Shopping Centre, car park and Bus Garage look set to be redeveloped by Tiger Developments. Plans application expected to be submitted later this year The multi-storey car park and Peckhamplex area is mentioned for 82 homes ?comprehensive mixed-use redevelopment? included in ?taller buildings?, but with 50 per cent of the site reserved as small business workspace" So - no buses, no supermarket and no cinema/arts emporium? How on earth do the planners think the people of peckham go about their daily business??
  5. Hopefully this won't add hours onto my travel around my neighbourhood as we all queue to turn right onto Holly Grove...! However, whatever the outcome of this I will still find trying to pull out of Choumert (west) across Bellenden into Choumert (East) tricky due to the amount of bins, street furniture and other visual obstacles which mean you have to slowly edge forwards just to see round corners! All of which makes cyclists scowl!! The parked up cars and general ignoring of yellow lines in this bit of the road are far more obstructive yet haven't been included.
  6. Traveller children do often have a base school which is the one where they are registered. A system of dual registration exists so information can be shared with temporary schools if the family are travelling. Not all travellers are on the road, there are several traveller communities in Peckham whose children attend school like any other child. Families often use the same schools so there is a sense of continuity/familiarity for the children and their families. Traveller children or circus children didn't feel any more disruptive in my class than any other mid year entrants really, in my experience.
  7. I went the first evening and waited about 10 miutes! it was fabulous!
  8. Awww - I'm Choumert. There was I getting my hopes up but I guess it will just be tarmac not a tree... Might try the Tree Oficer and see what's what. 9. That sounds positive - I've noticed the hole around my tree stump (an ex-flowering cherry)has been lengthened and neatened so maybe a tree is going back?? rch Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Just so you guys know... 10. I was trying to find this out too - I had a lovely tree removed outside my house, but I think in this case the gap between tree and pavement may not nnow meet the council's metre square rule. this despite noone can get down the street because of all the dustbins that litter it!!! All i have now is a stump and two of those plastic railings in the way!
  11. I'd be a bit annoyed if I had to pay for brown bags just because I have no spaceor routine use for a brown bin! Is that some kind of extra tax on hard working ordinary, don't have a spacious front garden with room for umpteen bins I don't use frequently person??? 12. Junctions are all different - 10m of yellow lines behind you will not change the reduced sightlines for the actual manoeuvre because of hedges and lamposts (Choumert road onto Bellenden Rd) or multiple lamposts (Chadwick onto Bellenden)or the angle of the junction (Danby onto Bellenden). This is far more of a risk to other road users. How will it change anything??
  13. So I looked on crashmap.co.uk and found that from 2011 it indicates 1 serious incident (Lyndhurst grovej/w lyndhurst way and 6 minor incidents in the broad area covered by the consultation. Whilst any incident is unwelcome (and without creating a crashmap login which I can't be bothered with right now I can't see the reports)these could just be car to car and have nothing to do with pedestrians and cyclists. Having lived in the area for a long while now and as a pedestrian and driver (I don't cycle, I feel that what is really needed is some more pedestrian crossings to cross Chadwick maybe further up towards the j/w Lyndhurst Way and a way to better manage the roadcrossing from Chadwick rd east over Bellenden rd to chadwick Rd west. I have witnessed a bad accident here, but it was caused by both drivers not following the highway code - ie pulling out without due attention and driving too fast so unable to stop in time. Changing the road system won't change bad road use or pedestrian behaviours! The rest of the system works fine.
