I had a great bank holiday weekend, hope everyone else did to. I had a great time checking out the bank holiday offerings of the pubs in ED. It was a surprisingly hot day and the football was on, we started at the Bishop which was rammed full, such an uncomfortable place to be especially when it is hot. The beer is dire in there to, there is hardly any gas to the beer at all and at ?3.80 a pop, its a costly pint. We then headed down to the EDT and although the beer is better, the staff are absoloutely ghastly, they would rather have a chat to each other than serve customers. So infuriating. Next stop was the The Vale to watch the football. I must say I dont really head down that way much but I had an excellent time, I saw the match and then we headed out into the garden for some lunch, I read somewhere that there was a new chef there. It was excellent, I had the lamb shank and my mates all had the spicy cajun burger. It really was fantastic. The staff were so friendly, it was busy but not once did I feel crushed or devalued. I will certainly head down there more often. Roll on the next bank holiday weekend!
