  1. Bora has my sympathies - it's hard running a business where your goods are extremely perishable. But they should be able to do better with the problem of how to charge accurately when they have so many varieties e.g. 15 kinds of tomato. Ideally the receipt would show better info e.g. 'Dutch Beef @ £3.95 kg. 0.45 kg = £1.78 It would also help if you could see the price/weight calculations 'live' at the point of sale, so you could immediately query anything that looks wrong e.g. is the price calculation being made on an incorrect basis - some tomatoes are £3.95 kg whereas some are £8.95 kg, so it make a difference.
  2. Yes, understood, she has a very safe seat. But why is there nothing from Greens or Lib Dems? Have they given up before even starting - then why bother even offering candidatea?
  3. I can't vote for Reeves. I've written to her a couple of times and got unsatisfactory responses. She seems to be a party line box ticker. I'll probably vote Green or Lib Dem, but it would be good to see some campaigning from them, or at least some campaign material from any of them.
  4. I am registered at a different practice which I moved to three years ago following a steep deterioration in service at my former GP surgery. The new practice is even worse - it seems that everything has changed from around three to four years ago, and we no longer have a functioning GP Service. So many disturbing aspects to the situation e.g. having to share personal info with 'health care assistants' and administrators who are effectively gate-keepers for the doctors. One way I managed to get a GP to talk to me was by calling NHS Direct who called my GP surgery and they did call me back within 24 hours. What a waste of time! There was an article in the Evening Standard about people queueing in Brockley from 7 AM and even then not getting appointments. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/health/hilly-fields-gp-london-nhs-patients-queue-appointments-b1150599.html
  5. If your TV signal isn't good, then Freesat is a good alternative to Freeview. I believe Freesat also has a few extra channels. I want to try Freesat but I'm not sure whether the dish is working - if anyone has a redundant Freesat box, please message me.
  6. This site is an ideal site for the South Circular to be tunnelled - through Forest Hill rather than over it.
  7. Fairlawn Primary School (Honor Oak Road) is towards Forest Hill rather than East Dulwich, but is well-loved by local parents and kids.
  8. It's certainly a part of life, as is consideration.
  9. To add to problems, the opening hours of Sorting Offices has been greatly reduced. It's now a pathetic two hours each day, 08.00 - 10.00 Christmas will be interesting.
  10. Incredibly loud event still going on at 05.00 Sunday - have to wonder how many households, how many people, have been disturbed by this. This is in the Borough of Lewisham which - unlike most Boroughs - has no out-of-hours noise enforcement.
  11. Firstly I don't agree that there are lots of 'whingy threads' on ED Forum. There are lots of things in the world going wrong and it's positive to discuss it. Coming back to Road User Standards, there's plenty to complain about - especially lack of enforcement regarding frequent speeding, illegal use of car horns, ridiculously loud music from vehicles, etc etc. One thing that happened to me this week - I was driving in East Dulwich on Monday. A person on a mountain bike sped past on the inside and bashed my wing mirror hard. He looked back but speeded up instead of stopping. I followed him, but he clearly didn't want to discuss what happened, so I couldn't follow without engaging in dangerous driving myself. Was it deliberate or an accident? Has this happened to anyone else lately? Hopefully not a new sport in the area.
