  1. My son had never before had any tutoring but I wanted to find someone who would be able to give me a clear idea on ?where he was at? and what he would need to focus on in order to prepare for his 11+ exams. I found Betsy Rowlands who proved to be everything I had hoped for. She was professional, highly experienced and was able to be both relatable to my son but equally detailed with me about what was needed. My son is now about to start at Dulwich College and I truly believe Betsy?s advice went a long way to making him feel exam ready and confident. Highly recommended. 2. There is a great uplifting pop up exhibition on the railings of Dulwich Village Infants School today until 8pm featuring photographs of local residents and staff sponsored by Southwark Council.
  3. Evening all, Please join us at this preview exhibition celebrating the launch of this groundbreaking street level domestic abuse campaign! No more billboards featuring black eyes on white women aged between 25-35, this campaign represents the truth in that anybody could fall victim to domestic abuse and that it effects us all. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men, thats a LOT of people directly experiencing this crime behind closed doors. Imogen Paton founder of Arts Against Abuse, ambassador and ex service user for Solace Women's Aid heralds both men and women as the true heroes in the fight against the U.K crime with the highest level of repeat. "It takes no strength to beat someones body or mind, but incredible strength to survive it." Please register your ticket via the Eventbrite to help us keep tabs on numbers or just pop down between 8-11 on the 18th of April if thats easier! Your presence counts more than your punctuality! https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/i-own-me-campaign-launch-tickets-44295526111?aff=es2 https://www.artsagainstabuse.com
  4. Hello all, Wanted to share this event, run by Arts Against Abuse and sponsored by Southwark Council, with you all. Victory Over Violence is an enlightening domestic abuse seminar led by a panel of guests including various services, survivors and therapists (with a focus on art). The aim is to educate and inform, and to encourage dialogue and interaction on the topic. The evening will start with an appearance from the incredible Mr Doodle who will be covering the UK's first Charity Art Car (The Bad Karma Impala) in his incredible drawings, and then will finish with a self-defense workshop led by professional boxer "Hollywood Josh". Its free and not one to be missed as domestic abuse effects 1 in every 3 women and 1 in every 6 men. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/victory-over-violence-domestic-abuse-seminar-and-workshop-tickets-33906569462 https://www.gofundme.com/badkarmaimpala
  5. We have just finished doing a complete flat renovation, new bathroom, kitchen, wiring, flooring...everything basically! I want to recommend our builder Daniel and his team who have blown my mind with their fast, friendly and exceptionally professional work, not to mention very fair price. Every problem the flat has thrown at us has been dealt with efficiently and with a vast amount of experience, and when I wasn't available to project manage or make a decision, I could trust Daniel to make the best choice on my behalf. I am not disappointed! These boys can do anything!! I would thoroughly recommend time and time again for any job you need doing. Contact Daniel on 07916124206
  6. Some of you may have heard of "THE BAD KARMA IMPALA" project already or have even donated by buying a piece of art from one of our auctions, but for those of you that don't, the project is the launch of the UK's first charity art car, a 1968 chevrolet Impala that seeks to raise awareness of domestic abuse. The project is arranged as two phases. Phase one is the fundraising events and the renovation and redesign of the art car. Phase two sees the complete car rented out for weddings etc and donating 100% of profits to solace women's aid. We have just received funding from Southwark to host a follow on event in Camberwell, and have been chosen to feature at this years Lambeth country show in Brockwell park, however we are desperately in need of critical funding to secure various parts for the car. We are also seeking further donations of artwork. If you are able and willing to make a cash/art donation to this very important cause, or know someone who may be interested in supporting the fight to empower victims of domestic abuse, then please do message me for the community account details and/or for more info, or pass the details on to anyone else. www.badkarmaimpala.com Kind regards, Imogen
