  1. Evening All After your recommendations on where to take the Mrs and the Mother-in-law for dinner on Sunday, where I can also watch the 6 nations on the sly? Thanks
  2. Hi - if anyone knows Verusha please tell her I’ve found her Visa card.
  3. Need a roofer to fix a flat metal roof. Needed fairly urgently. Required in SE22. Any recommendations greatly received Thanks
  4. I?ve deleted a perfectly reasonable, non offensive post about taking my dog to France. I?ve deleted it because of the completely irrelevant comments made by Zenoria65. This is a forum, where people ask questions to get opinion from people who may have experienced what the poster is asking. It?s beggars belief why sometimes people feel the need to respond to posts that are in no way helpful and end up taking the focus off the original post. Well done Zenoria65 if you achieved your goal, you have been extremely helpful - not! Suggest you crawl back under your rock unless your responses to peoples posts are going to be helpful.
  5. Does anybody have any experience / opinion of Plusnet Broadband - good or bad. They are significantly cheaper than my current provider (Sky) - should I change?
  6. Found this bank card on Lordship Lane this morning. Belongs to H E Skinner If anybody knows this person please let them know and PM me. I?m in East Dulwich, home all day but away tonight until Sunday night. If not claimed by end of weekend I?ll shred and dispose of. Hopefully can be returned to owner.
  7. Hello The wi-fi in our house is shocking. We have sky (super strength maxed to the max!) as well as a mesh network that attempts to cover the whole house and the shed - but fails dismally. I was wondering if anybody on here has any experience and could recommend a company that installs home networks. Also, any idea on how much to do this for a 4 bed house? Thanks Clicka
  8. Can anyone recommend a good conveyancer to use for a flat sale only? There has to be a good local recommendation that is significantly cheaper than what the estate agent has quoted. Thanks
  9. Hi All - my son is chomping at the bit to get involved with a football club. he currently plays rugby and cricket but has now declared he has a love for "the game". He is in year 3. Can anybody recommend any local clubs? ideally looking for a club where they train and play the occasional friendly game against other clubs. Any recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks
  10. Hello - I'm looking for an experienced kitchen fitting team to install a flat packed kitchen. Its a small kitchen using existing appliances. Job should only take a couple of days and I would be looking to pay on completion. Thanks
  11. After a recommendation to have an insulated garden building that can be used as an office or gym. I know there are few companies that specialise in this sort of thing but they are very expensive, and I?m sure any competent builder could do the same for a fraction of the price. I?m looking for a recommendation of a builder, company that have done a lot of these type of ?sheds?. Thanka
  12. So, after a lot of family debate, extensive research, and basically giving in to the kids we have decided to take the plunge - we're getting a puppy. The next steps are to decide what is right for us... a specific breed, a rescue dog, a puppy, a slightly older dog. It feels like a lot more research yet to do before we get one. We're also looking at the cost of keeping a puppy/dog. In order to help me with my research I'd be grateful if any of you other dog owners out there in East Dulwich could provide some help. Vets - are there any vets that come highly recommended, and why? Insurance - would be grateful of any good insurance companies. Dont want to pay the earth but at the same time want to ensure there is adequate cover. Look forward to hearing from all you dog lovers.
  13. Another glowing report / recommendation for Paul Knight rubbish removal. Punctual, polite, smart, a genuine nice guy. Reasonably priced and left no trace. Highly recommended and will defo use again. Call Paul on 07985 104027
  14. Hello - i'm looking for some recommendations for companies who remove masonary paint. Appreciate this may be an expensive exercise as I've had one quote already that seemed ridiculously expensive (just shy of ?10k!) so wanted to get a few quotes especially from recommendations on here. Please reply to the thread so any good local businesses can get the good publicity they need, especially in the current climate. But if you wouldnt mind me driving past your house to see the work that has been done against your recommendation please send that in a private message. Thanks in advance.
  15. Found a BMW and house keys in middle of road on Overhill Road. It has a number of very distinctive key rings. PM if you?ve lost them. Although I won?t be back in London until late Sunday
  16. Hello - I'm having a building project done and am looking for a good company (i.e.: comes recommended) for supplying and fitting sliding aluminium doors. The size of the opening where the doors will go is 4.8m wide by 2.3m high. Its a minefield out there as there are so many companies so hoping somebody on here has used a good company they can recommend. Thanks
  17. Sorry - posted in wrong section. Items now listed in the for sale board
  18. Hi, we're having a kitchen extension and subsequent new kitchen. Costs, as expected are spiralling and I'm looking for ways to cut costs. We could spend a lot of money on an oven, we currently have a NEFF which was left by the previous owners, its a good oven but needs a serious clean. Could this be a way to save some pounds? Has anybody ever used a professional oven cleaner? Got and good or bad experiences or recommendations? Thanks Clicka
  19. Have I posted this in the right section???
  20. Hi All I was wandering if there is anybody on this forum who has had a side return done where you have had to use pile foundations. We got a quote from a building company quite prominent in the area, where side returns are effectively their bread and butter. The quote was very competitive and we liked the salesman, so we agreed for them to do the work. Only after we had paid our deposit the additional costs starting coming out of the wood work (although not literally ;-)). We were told a soil sample would need to be done because if we were on a clay soil the foundations would have to be deeper. Er, hello, does this company employ the only people in the trade who don't know that pretty much ALL of London is on clay. Unsurprisingly the soil sample came back telling us it was clay, and the price goes up because we would now need deeper foundations. Then we are told there is a tree on the boundary with our neighbor which coupled with the clay soil may mean having to do an "engineered" foundation solution. Er, hello, the tree was there when they came round and quoted. Its not a new tree so a bit annoyed they quoted without factoring this in. I guess they thought they'd hook us in to a contract and then tell us and we'd continue the work with them and a far higher price than first agreed, with what we had as contingency effectively spent before any work even started!! Well, the latest is that we WILL need pile foundations as they got building control in even before we have been granted planning permission, and we were told via EMAIL a week or two back that they are PULLING OUT of the contract as they do not do pile foundations. Can you believe their customer service was to tell us by email that they were pulling out - absolutely disgraceful. The owner, who I have mailed has still not had the manners to call me. So, we move on and hence the reason for posting. Not to bad mouth the company, which is why I have not named them but to try and find out from you good people if anybody has had pile foundations and can recommend a good builder who may be able to take this work on. Yes, surprisingly the builders we signed a contract with have not recommended anybody. Please help. Thanks Clicka
  21. Can anybody recommend somewhere where I can get dents removed from my car?
  22. Hi, I'm having a loft conversion done and there are a lot of things not included in the quote so the cost is adding up. Can anybody recommend a good tiler? And what is the going hourly rate for a tiler? Thanks
