Great builder recommendation (Kitchen extension)
NickW replied to harj's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Raf and his team have just finished at our flat on Camberwell Grove and he is the best builder I have ever worked with. Bob Jones was our structural engineer who was also good. I second all of what Harj said in post above and I would be amazed if you found a better team anywhere. Experienced, hard working, skilled attention to detail and helpful are all words that spring to mind. They also leave the site very tidy after each day. I'd recommend him to anyone without hesitation and only hope he is available next time I have a new project. I'm also happy to speak to anyone if you need more info: my name is Nick and my number is 07771 547813. Rafal Dubiel can be contacted on 07825663236 or [email protected] -
My regular plumber recently retired and I contacted Nikko on the strength of the recommendations here and he was really good and helpful. He did a great job, very tidy and had lots of useful advice as well. Definitely did over and above and didn't charge me for the parts he had to buy for my job but didn't need to use all of. I'll definitely use Nikko again in future.

Camberwell Grove is CLOSED at the junction of Grove Park so you cannot access Grove Park from the north or from the south. Lots of people doing u-turns despite the signs. Apparently its for EDF works and will last up to 4 weeks. There are also two sets of temporary lights on Grove Lane so there are a lot of narky drivers out there.

Southwark Council leaflet dropper - unbelieveable!
NickW replied to ryedalema's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Ha ? good play on words Penguin68. No I am afraid I am here all the time. I often read the posts as a casual observer but I felt driven to write this time. I don?t know what happened to ryedalema and I don?t condone the actions of the dropper - however all too often mum?s like ryedalema think they have a divine right to the pavement, doorways and what ever else. Were you actually to meet me you would find me always polite and ready to help carry pushchairs up stairs, happy to open doors and give up my seat to mums but all to often mums can be pushy, impolite and darn right rude and they have no excuse. In this case why I particularly felt the need to write because from experience of working with disaffected youth ryedalema's ?quip? just helps them feel more isolated and alienated. People are rude, people have bad days, but there is no point in exacerbating it and making people feel more worthless. More than likely someone giving out WHTVR is on a first start program ? they are likely to have had a tough time at home and should be cut some slack. Ryedalema is not the victim they are. -

I feel sorry for the disadvantaged. Problems we encounter in our society are because of all of us. Being snobby and pointing on internet forums does not help. It was not the above post, I read back through all ryedalemas posts and it was as a result of this I was so aggressive. I feel she is a bully. -
I had a good sunday lunch at 'Bar Story' by peckham rye station.

I heard a rumour that Sainsbury?s East Dulwich was applying for planning permission to build new flats on their site as well as re-developing the store. I haven't seen any yellow applications tied to lampposts but now there are diggers clearing trees in a cordoned off area of car park I am wondering if anyone knows what?s going on?
