  1. Hi everyone,

Unfortunately one of my teenagers is struggling with their mental health at the moment. I've known for years that our current GP practice is pretty rubbish, but lucky for us we haven't been ill very much, so it hasn't mattered! Looking to move now, and hopefully to somewhere where there is a least one permanent doctor with an interest in adolescent mental health.

    Anyone got any recommendations?

A doctor who will listen to my child, and not just say, "we don't deal with that."

    thanks in advance!

  2. Sorry everyone I’m probably being a wally but can anyone help?

If I’m reading a thread and I want to go back to list of threads how do I do it? Im always going back to the top menu,,, discussion/lounge/family room etc

If I’m in “General Issues” how do I go back to this list of “general issues” posts? Ideally to where I was in the list before I clicked on a thread?

    TIA

    Jess

  3. Our son did them (mostly with my heroic husband) on Saturday mornings from when he was just over 2 and he could swim by the time he was 3. Admittedly mostly underwater with his mouth open like a whale but his style refined quite quickly! Not all the kids could, but ours was keen!
  4. State schools provide all necessary text books. Occasionally they may sell additional material, eg revision guides, that are optional. They do this to help parents with choosing what extra to get if they want them, and the school will pass on its bulk buying discount making it cheaper for the parents. If you have school textbook you have to give it back: it remains property of the school.

At private schools, it varies. Some do exactly the same as state, some require pupils to buy their own. Sometimes a school may ask for a refundable book deposit to make sure they get their books back, or they may charge if a book is not returned.

  5. Sorry aguacate I can't help you, but just thought I would mention that I was an "observee" for someone on a similar course when my youngest was a baby (he's 3 now! How time flies!). It wasn't at all onerous, in fact I quite liked it because it gave me a weekly opportunity to notice what was new since the previous week. So if you read the OP and think it sounds weird, it's not!
  6. Hawkins bazaar (the one I went to was at Westfield Stratford) do some good cheap stuff. Plus, I went to the till with 12 polystyrene aeroplane kits, they were about 65p each I think. the clerk asked if it was for party bags and I said yes. She then gave me, for free, 12 loot bags, 12 balloons and 12 mini packets of haribo as well! Don't know if that's an offer that's always on or if I was lucky, but it might be worth finding out!!
