  1. Hi Charlie, I'm looking for someone in SE15 to fit my Swytch kit to my bike for a reasonable fee. None of the local bike shops will do it. Can you? Or does anyone know someone who can? Kathy
  2. I recommend Martin Okafor 07549 804672. Came at short notice to fix my cooker, was very thorough and knowledgeable.
  3. While I would welcome more, there is a zero waste shop in Nunhead called BYO. It's great, well stocked, but only open Wednesday to Saturday (I think).
  4. Does anyone know what is happening at the shop that was previously Puzzle Organico? On Peckham Rye/Nigel Road?
  5. Dear Sharon, You contacted me through the STAT website but my reply to your email bounced. Please try me direct [email protected] or call 07939 340 672. Many thanks, Kathy
  6. Thank you for recommending me Greensnail. I'm so happy that you have found the Alexander Technique to be helpful. Sharon, who contacted me after reading this: emails to your address have bounced, please contact me from another address, or check your inbox, which might be full. Kathy Hulme ATwithKathyHulme.com
  7. Hi Billy, Thanks for your advice. The pipe coming from my flat is quite long, I tried the towels and boiling water thing, but I don't think I got enough heat and then the towels froze so probably made it worse. I've tried a hairdryer, but I can't reach the whole length of pipe with it (it's a couple of metres to where it joins with another, larger pipe.) It's been suggested that one can disconnect the pipe coming out of the boiler. Would you say that is possible? Is it a safe thing to try? Thanks for your help,
  8. Have you considered Alexander Technique? It's not a treatment, but it educates you to prevent back pain and gives you tools to alleviate pain. I am a local Alexander Technique teacher, message me if you would like more information. Kathy Hulme
  9. Hi Mrs R, Would the Honor Oak WI be interested in a practical talk/workshop on Alexander Technique? I can do a one off group session. I'm an Alexander Technique teacher based in Peckham Rye. My website is atwithkathyhulme.com if you want to have a look. With kind regards, Kathy Hulme
  10. Once again Andy has saved my bacon at short notice on a Saturday for a totally reasonable fee. It was a small job, but if left unattended could have had disastrous consequences. 07983 688451 Thank you Andy.
  11. Andy - Such a nice guy. Totally reasonable call out fee. Came super quickly and gave me good advice on my problem. 07983 688451 I absolutely recommend him. Kathy

  13. Because the thing that Rye Lane is really lacking is....
  14. The 'girls place' is the old tile shop which is supposed to be becoming Voodoo Ray's. The place I'm talking about is much smaller and is right next door to Mr Bao and is in the process of being done up.
  15. Can anyone recommend a flooring expert who is reasonably priced and good? Or should I just go to John Lewis?
  16. There is work going on in the shop front next door to Mr Bao. It's all being done out in Gentrification Grey, anyone know what it's going to be?
  17. I need to get a sofa moved between two flats at Peckham Rye. Can anyone quote me? It is a sturdy 2 Seater sofa bed and there are stairs at both flats down one flight and up 3.
  18. I can't praise Callow's highly enough. They've talked me through removing my faulty locking mechanism and putting in an emergency lock which they've lent me. They are absolute stars and an asset to the area.
  19. I regularly cycle through the area described by this proposal and would welcome a return to a 2 way system. I frequently reflect on how the one way system must affect the businesses stranded on the island created by the triangle of one way streets, I also occasionally cycle up Camberwell Grove then down Chadwick Road, forgetting that at the bottom the option is either to cycle all the way round the system or illegally mount the pavement to go the few yards to Bellenden road (or get off an walk) - all options seeming stupid in one way or other and all in the interests of cars being able to speed up for a few metres... As for the streets being narrow, it seems that the one way streets are the wide streets with plenty of room for two way traffic and parking.
  20. A rather posh looking jewellers has opened up on Northcross rd - at the top near Barry Rd before you get to Rye Books. I bet they would be glad of your custom.
  21. It's true that the menu suddenly became rubbish and bad value, I assumed that they must have been losing money with the old good value menu. But the staff were always friendly and the off the shelf wine good always. Much better than similar priced stuff in supermarkets.
  22. I'm just very sad that Green and Blue are closing. Goodbye to a great wine shop. :(
