With crime fiction now the best-selling genre in the UK, and with our televisions, cinema screens and podcasts all awash with murder most foul, local author Alice Castle (author of the Death in Dulwich cozy crime series featuring single mum amateur sleuth Beth Haldane, as well as psychological thrillers under the name A.M. Castle) looks at why we?ve all turned to crime. Are we simply a nation of puzzle-lovers who adore solving mysteries, or are women (who buy more books) driving this surge, because the books reflect their experience? Or is the answer more complicated still? Come along and see what you think!
