  1. Can anyone recommend a good, reliable, local taxi company for a trip to Gatwick?
  2. Keys found near Peckham Rye/corner of Homestall Road. If you've lost two yale keys with a purple key ring please get in touch!
  3. Yes cancelled the card immediately and yes there was someone hanging around, a little way away but he could easily see what was happening. He may have been just genuinely loitering with no ulterior motive, but I suspect not. Am wondering whether Barclays have cctv footage of that area, but can find out on Monday.
  4. Thanks Dulwich Fox for the info on the Barclays in Rye Lane. Re which machine - It was the little cashpoint on the corner, probably easier for the scammers to tamper with too as it's quite low down.
  5. The bank card scammers are back, so please be vigilant!!! A small device had been attached to the Barclays cashpoint machine in Lordship lane and it retained our card this morning.
  6. I found an iphone on the road near Peckham Rye early this morning - if you've lost one please message me back.
  7. Just wanted to alert anyone who has a car parked in Townley Road this evening that there are two boys letting the air out of tyres and videoing it!!! I have reported them to the police who are sending a car to investigate.
  8. Black wallet found in Lordship Lane 5pm today - on the pavement between the Co-op and HSBC. If anyone has lost one, please message me!
  9. As a daily user of the park - and a liker of dogs too - I have witnessed many occasions where dog owners allow their dogs off the lead, but take responsibility for them, and clear up after them too. I have also witnessed dogs off the lead running straight up to and barking at cyclists (on the tarmac) and runners (on the sand track), and the dog owners shouting very unpleasantly at those cyclists and runners ...?? As a walker, cyclist and runner, it does seem particularly unfair that some (thankfully only a few) dog owners do not seem to realise that it is not that other park-users are scared of their pets, but that their pets are also likely to cause an accident if running straight at legs/wheels (I've encountered both unfortunately), with likelihood of damage to the person as well as to the dogs. Like I said I have no problem with dogs, but owners do need to take responsibility for their pets' behaviour, and if they are likely to run at other park-users then take some sensible action - without shouting at the cyclists/runners preferably.
  10. Thanks very much for your reply - its really good to hear a perspective from someone at the school who is also going for it. have to say I was very impressed with the presentation they gave last week and my daughter does seem smitten with everything she has seen and heard. It looks as though it can provide the kind of education that I would have liked myself and is certainly one that is a great preparation for university. I wonder how easy it is for a newcomer to adjust to the school and to make friends and so on?
  11. just wondered if anyone out there has any experience of the IB? I'd love to hear any opinions - from a teachers, student or parents perspective - as my daughter is seriously considering it as an alternative to A Levels and we have to make a decision very soon. thanks very much M
