  1. URGENT requirement for childcare after school Mon - Thurs This would suit a local student looking for part time work. We need someone to collect from school in SE21 4 days per week and travelling back to our home ( SE22/23 borders) travel is by bus or if you cycle that's fine too - we can arrange for him to cycle to school ( weather permitting!) Hours would be 2 days 3.15 - 7pm and 2 days 4.15 - 7pm ( extra hours available 1-2 times a week from babysitting. You must be responsible, sensible, calm , tidy and also fun! Able to supervise homework, make delicious food for 3 hungry boys ( 2 older ones travel to and from school alone) . You must LOVE animals - we have a dog and 2 cats. Only apply if you meet all the criteria above, are available in 1-2 weeks time and enjoy being with boisterous boys - a love of sport may also be an advantage. Must have at least 2 checkable references and recent CRB/DBS. PM applications only - stating availability . Thanks
  2. Any au pairs in ED/Forest Hill/Peckham Rye ? my lovely Au Pair is desperate to meet some friends in the area - if your au pair is interested please let me know. Thanks Sarah
  3. Hotel Ellmauhof in Saalbach-Hinterglemm Austria - ski to door, ski school for kids from door, amazing creche, lovely children's swimming pool and baby listening so when the kids are in bed you can pop to the bar and know they're ok or Chilly Powder in Morzine - amazing kids facilities, the chalet hotel staff have them in creche - take them to ski school and pick them up and have lovely kids facilities. If you want to ski while the little ones finished ski school the chilly powder staff take them to play in creche or sledging. Chilly powder were truly fabulous and they have just opened a high speed lift to avoriaz opposite which has fabulous skiing.
  4. All star lanes shoreditch high street - small, relatively quiet, only 4 lanes and great with kids. bumpers and the brilliant rack you use for them to bowl from (and easy from denmark hill or peckham rye stations
  5. Rocca - Dulwich Village - will let them do pizza making, Pizza express do this too.
  6. Hi We've had lots of au pairs over the years and our current and last one have the following deal - ?90 per week for 25 hours + 2 nights babysitting, oyster card - which we top up about ?30 per month, UK mobile PAYG phone - we pay about ?25 per month for that. Having known friends who've paid alot less it's not worth it - they don't stay long and they aren't going to be great with your kids - i think what you're offering is fair and i think offering flights home etc is always good. We've never offered that in advance but have done it for christmas along usually with christmas bonus. We also treat our au pairs as very much part of the family, i think you want them to enjoy being with you and your children, it's a really important part of why they're here. In terms of language schools, most of ours have gone to Clapham - to the old town and our current au pair tops this up with a twice weekly evening class in Brockley which she says is brilliant for spoken English. Don't know if that helps.
  7. Hi Clare Try Blossoms on East DUlwich grove - gorgeous and only about 20 children total - it's montessori and the staff are absolutely lovely. It's only school hours though - don't know if that's a problem for you.
  8. Hi Missyelliot I had Strep B with my younger boys and had home birth as the consultant at Kings told me the midwives (Brierly) could give me the anti b's at home and they did. They also stayed with us for a while afterwards and spoke to consultant after birth to check baby observations etc, and visited us more than usual the next 48 hours. Consultant persuaded me that home birth was a safe decision with Strep B - but, you have to just do whatever you feel comfortable with. I'm sure whatever you decide it will all go well for you.
  9. Hi Vicki My eldest was tutored by Alex Bealey at Knowledge seekers 07738 016357 for 7+ entry and did really well. She also provides a tutor for my middle son who has been struggling with literacy, i know others who have used knowledge seekers as well and really happy with them. S
  10. If you're in ED then Blossoms Montessori on Dunstans Grove is gorgeous - my youngest is there and loves it, eldest went to half moon and loved it there, Also First Steps on Upland road really lovely and has great garden!
  11. Try Bakerross - they do brilliant stuff for christmas and all year round - lots of ideas for home made gifts.
  12. I noticed these last night while sitting in the Palmerston, so it's not just the smokers outside who'll be looking at them!- they are an eyesore especially after so much effort has been made to make that stretch of road look great with the old photos.
  13. Hello! I'm finnish au pair living in East Dulwich as well, have been here two weeks now. I don't yet know almost anyone here other than the family so would be really great to meet other au pairs and do some stuff together on our free time! Just answer to my message if you're looking to make new friends too :) Jemina
  14. Thanks guys, but i suspect it's a lost cause - if someone is low enough to use it for international calls i can't imagine they'll ever give it back! I'm sure the kids will do many more amusing things to take photos of.
  15. My iphone fell out of my bag this morning and was being used by someone to call internationally - it's now been blocked and blacklisted so is useless to anyone - however, if anyone has it - i would love to have it back for the photos of my kids!! In fact - just the sim will do - couldn't give a monkey's about the handset. I know i should back up blah di blah but just didn't have time, anyway please if you have it just PM me and we'll sort something out - those pics are so precious.
