Post Office Lordship Lane is Broken

It doesn't say whether this will include Evri parcels -
Well, this thread has been great publicity for drawing attention to the items!

You don't want to hopefully politely explain not to use a black bag in the recycling for fear of seeming a busybody yet are quite happy to snoop inside their bin? 😂🤣😂

Walking around East Dulwich this morning there are still LOADS of Christmas trees awaiting collection both in front gardens and the pavement. -

I totally agree about lack of space/resources, in a way it's a victim of its own success as more and more people are using it as a collection point rather than wait in for delivery. My point is, will complaining to the Post Office bring results, though of course I hope it does, or will they just say it's nothing to do with them and to contact the franchisee? -

Is it still operated by the Post Office though. I took this photo of a poster in the Post Office in September announcing the running of LL Post Office would soon pass to a franchisee ZCO Limited. Is the current chaos a result of that? -
The Epps Cocoa factory was located in Holland Street (now Hopton Street) near Tate Modern on Bankside Since extended, refurbished, painted yellow and renamed Bankside Lofts

I suppose all these issues that need addressing are a reflection of the times we live in. Important and necessary but somehow destroy the underlying spirit.

Yet I notice the station M&S building which I believe you James were involved with is 4 storeys high

In the interests of balance, Southwark Council offer a free service

The sites in question though are not comparable to the builders yard by the station and less likely to be granted planning permission for 9 storey buildings. The builders yard fronts on to the railway line on one side and virtually no residential property surrounding on the other sides. The Gibbs & Dandy /Kwikfit and ED trading trading estate are surrounded at close proximity by residential, and in the case of the latter a Grade II building, so there would more stringent height restrictions. Both these sites are tired and sad looking, and in need of development to provide much needed housing.

A friend of mine was into "skill swap" about 40 years ago. It wasn't within an organised scheme, she just offered services like help with painting in exchange for services received. She upset some people as they carried out their services for a living, I.e. for money. An organised scheme sounds much better.

Scaremongering - there is very little vacant land in East Dulwich available as sites for building 9 storey buildings so this is rather hypothetical. It could even be said the occasional taller, modern building breaks up the monotony of Victorian terraced housing.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of, it was a little further down the road towards LL, probably where the Fresh Flower Company is today. I'd forgotten all about it, with good reason. I think it disappeared before Blue Mountain opened and became a pizza place? I once bought a carton of milk from the deli and when I opened it, it was solid. I did get my money back though.

Excellent Christmas meal at Franklins!

The hare krishna restaurant is called Govindas and still going strong in Soho Street, a different establishment to the one that used to be (still is?) in Hanway Street. I must go back to Govindas some time
