That they’re separate is totally fine. That digital communication between them does not exist is not so good.

Yet there seems to be good communication with other GP practices. A couple of times I've phoned my GP FHRGP and been given same day appointments with EPCS.

Also, if TJGP claim shortage of staff, is it because the conditions offered make it unattractive for GPs to work there?

  2. I think there may be a glitch in the tech sometimes. I received a text out of the blue from them a couple of months ago which made no sense but I complied and embarked on a series of actions that led nowhere and had no conclusion.

I find the reception staff mainly very helpful and polite and one or two have certainly bent over backwards to help though I'm sure many people find otherwise.

  3. This is based on my memory only and so perhaps not very reliable but I thought the butcher was one of the casualties when Sainsbury's opened (1993?). They tried to carry on as wholesalers only for a while but this wasn't successful, perhaps because they made a lot of noise at 6am and perhaps there were complaints. There may have been a gap between the butchers vacating and Transylvanian Express opening but not sure.

  4. Why is it not be possible to have a box installed on the front wall internally and externally and then make a wireless connection, perhaps with a booster, with the middle room as you were originally told? Admittedly my knowledge is very limited but I'm able to get a wireless connection from the box and router in the front room to my kitchen at the back. Replacing an underground cable seems unnecessary when wireless is available.

So from £25 to £80 in the space of a few years to pay for a service we should actually be getting through our Council Tax.

There are very many council tax payers in Southwark who do not have the luxury of a garden, even in East Dulwich, and it would be unreasonable to expect them to subsidise the lucky ones who do.

  6. There is a lack of student accommodation in London, according to this article there are 4 students chasing every student bed so there is a need.  Suspect it's a case of if they build it they will come to east Dulwich rather than a case of students already in East Dulwich moving in.

  7. Sir Charles Barry and his son Charles Barry Junior were both architects for Dulwich College.  Junior designed many buildings for the College including the new College itself, Dulwich Library, North Dulwich Station and the sadly disappeared High Level station at Crystal Palace.  He was responsible for the initial designs for Dulwich Park but the final designs were by JJ Sexby, Chief Parks Officer for the LCC.   There was a track there long before it became Barry Road.
