  1. I had luck in Asda old kent Road today and a friend in Morrisons. Out of the red!
  2. Little girls birthday in March and we have other children too. I know some people have done this before but looking for an icecream van to park outside house and serve icecreams. Anyone know one please?
  3. Am I the only one that thinks this is totally insane? A dog in the Peckham rye sandpit? How is that ever ok? Quite clearly says on the gate no dogs! Dogs are never allowed in playhrounds!
  4. These are very polluting and harmful to people's lungs and the environment. We already have a huge issue with air pollution around here, so please do some research first.
  5. We are thinking of replacing our drafty wooden front door with a composite one but I'm a bit worried as some of them took terribly tacky. Does anyone have one that they are really happy with and I can just look at from the street? It's for a victorian house. Thanks
  6. BWallace do check with Thames water as depending on your house and sewage setup they sometimes come and do cctv camera on the larger pipes for free like we had done before we called Dave in.
  7. We just used Classic and finished before Xmas. We chose them in the end because they have been around here for a very long time and have lots of experience, the price was reasonable compared to others and they don't outsource the contract like some others. I've not used builders before and the end result is great. Sure we had a few smallish issues along the way but overall I would use them again and they defo seem to know their stuff when it comes to lofts. My advice is pay for a portaloo with a separate company to be put in your front garden before the scaffolding goes up especially if you have kids as you won't want all the builders and trades using your bathroom!!
  8. I booked Lee in today for a yearly service for my boiler. Arrived nice and early and got the job done. Even bled my radiators and gave advice on some other plumbing issues. Will be giving him a call next year.
  9. I'm very late to this but would be lovely to meet the group. It's 04.23 and having trouble sleeping so on the ED forum ha! Due mid March. Let me know if anything planned.
  10. We are having similar issues and I've got Dave from down the drain coming to try fix problem. Not used him yet but his reviews are excellent and he seemed to know his stuff when he came over.
  11. Be aware Sainsbury ED have a new lady manager who has changed the free parking from 3 hours to 2 hours. I am a regular customer and got a fine through the post the other day for ?70. They will so far not cancel it.
  12. Would like to hear about any bad experiences from Jonny and his team from Studdard. Thanks
  13. Need mastic taking off and 're doing around bath - anyone know anyone good for the job please?
  14. I also need someone local who can pin and alter bridesmaid dresses. Need to be tried on and pinned to fit at the alteration place rather than just taking to a laundry for alterations. If anyone knows anyone please send me a PM. Many thanks
  15. Hi phollym, just checking on ed forum for any missing tabby cats... i think we must live a few doors from you on ivydale as this cat has also befriended us. I was going to take him to the vet tomorrow to check for a microchip if i get a chance.
  16. Muffins 78, i had no idea that dmc were making so much money but after i googled i came across this interesting article about our friend mr dmc himself http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2063458/Family-doctors-firm-raking-1-8m-YEAR--patients-say-surgery-appalling.html
  17. We are now at seldoc with our toddler as hes really quite poorly and no luck with appt at dmc
  18. Hi James, you could help sort out the issues at Dulwich Medical Centre and getting appointments or actually just getting through on the phone - its crazy and they are taking on new patients so the sign says outside. Read other posts on the forum. thanks
  19. Arh yes thanks i saw that thread after posting mine. They wonder why people go to a & e for minor stuff when actually its probably easier to get seen there than at dmc
  20. Everyone joins because they want the lanes midwives, which are great but now its just out of control
  21. I have just been on the phone for an hour redialling, because its engaged constantly then on the answer phone queue system at dmc.... I know this is not unusual at this practice but i am totally fed up. My 23 month old has a terrible chesty cough that is keeping us all awake and causing him discomfort but for love nor money can i get an appt at dmc. Then when i drive past there is a huge sign outside TAKING NEW PATIENTS! seriously dmc this is a joke... U don't have appts for the patients you have even children. I am furious, just told to go to the Peckham walk in centre constantly...! arrrhhh so angry.
  22. Another vote for Niko, I have called on Niko several times for several plumbing issues. This time my toilet has been flushing all weekend so i gave Niko a call on Monday and he was straight to fix it. Always comes quickly, knows his stuff and goes out of his way to get you the parts needed. We now live on Ivydale and its seems that he is very popular in these parts!
  23. Anyone know what happened on corner of Bellwood and ivydale rd last night? Lots of shouting, police and they have taped off the road and police are still there this morning. Hope it doesn't ruin the school fair today!
