I had to laugh when I read your post -- I've been having the exact same internal conversation ("yes, I *promise* to sell at least three slings to fund this inevitable purchase... honest... ish").

But they do look good, don't they? I'm tempted but at ?95 would like to see one in real life.

I also like the look of the SleepyNico but it's a little too close to my CatBirdBaby MeiTai to be a justifiable purchase ;-)

So -- anyone got a Babyhawk Oh Snap?

Sleepy Nico looks nice too!

basically love the joey sling pattern but can't be faffed with mai tai (totally rubbish at tying knots!) and the ergo seems a bit flimsy/boring in black.....

Anyone any views on soft structured carriers at all?

I've tried so many slings and bought a few before finally finding the 'ultimate sling'. I really got on best with the Babyhawk. It was very expensive, but also a good investment. I've used it lots and it still looks brand new. It washes well in the wm and it's easy to put on and off. It has a soft fabric on the inside and a good support, esp good if they go to sleep. It has a pocket and the carnival flower design. Sadly my son is too heavy now for carrying, so I'm going to sell it. But I m also happy for anyone to try it on, if you're still not sure.

I'd love to see an Oh Snap in real life as well (instead of oogling internet photos!)... but doubt I'll be getting one now as I've just ordered a LittleLife Discoverer: not pretty but highly rated by several people I know as a good solution for carrying older babies on back (I'm finding baby #4 harder to carry than the previous three, in part because he's less cooperative, and in part because my back's more knackered now than it was four children and 8 years ago! :-); until now I've got away with using ring slings, tie-on wraps and mai-tais -- all of which look much nicer than the backpacks!

Will keep an eye on this thread to see if any chance to see the Oh Snap materialises!

Ah OK - yes, my other sling is an Eco Baby which later became the Mei Tai....so is in pretty paisley fabric with brown straps. I love it but my hubby refuses to wear it - so the plain black Ergo is good for that!

Agree it looks higher in the back though now you say it.

Will be waiting to find out what the 'secret deal' is!

    • Ah sorry, it was comedy.
    • I have never used AI in my life. It's just notes from my forthcoming monograph on light industry in Dulwich and Camberwell 1879-1946 (dates chosen for obvious reasons).
    • Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering.  This is blooming genius. It's actually my partner who has the biggest issue with buying in plastic so I will have to hide the wrappers from him!
