HOUSE SALE Sat 9th April!!

Recommended Posts

We are moving overseas and are having a final House Sale in which everything must go, next Saturday 9th April, on Friern Rd SE22. We won't be posting our address until much nearer as we don't want to complete any pre-sales (unless individually listed on EDF already) - far too much to organise, a little toddler to look after, and past experience of an awful lot of no-shows! So please come along next Saturday and find bargains galore. Also will be freecycling a lot of things.

Included will be:

FURNITURE: small table kitchen dresser, chest of drawers, double mattress

BABY ITEMS: wooden cot + mattress, baby toys and books, clothes (neutral and boys, 0-18m)- all 50p each

CLOTHES: mens and ladies, mainly size 10 - all clothes ?1 each

BOOKS: lots of books! All types including baby books, novels, recipe books etc - all 50p each or 3 for ?1

And lots lots more!! Will add to this list during the week :)

    • We worked with Eliot recently to get two sets of shelves built. He was excellent! Really high quality craftsmanship, communicative and lovely - I’d recommend Langley Carpentry in a heartbeat.
    • How about trying the upstairs of some local pubs like EDT? They prob won't stay open until wee small hours but worth a try... or night at Rivoli Ballroom Catford (too old?!) or somewhere up in town for drinks rather than hiring somewhere.
    • Sadly crime does seem to be going up in terms of opportunists and street crime / bike thefts etc. Lack of CCTV in this area means it's more of a target than some neighbouring areas according to police (when they sent victim support round after our car had its catalytic converter stolen twice in 6 months by organised gang complete with balaclavas, iron bars and a chainsaw.. driving a 4x4). Crime still relatively low by some parts of London standards but a worrying trend if burglars are trying their luck when people are actually home. Wonder what local police/ MP thoughts are in terms of whether they could organise more community policing patrols. I read a woman was punched in the face on/near Lordship Lane in an unprovoked attack a week or two ago. Terrifying.
    • We had shutters and roller blind supplied and fitted by Affordable Shutters when we first moved into our house in 2012 and highly recommend them. One of the poles and a couple of shutter staples recently came loose and they scheduled in a visit when they were in the area at no charge. Lovely customer service, great quality, honestly cannot fault their service (shutters are made to measure so you have to wait but they're worth waiting for). https://affordableshutters.co.uk/
