There's been a couple of places that have come up for sale in these ex-local authority blocks and was wondering if anyone knows if they are safe. I know its a bit of a silly question to ask as its so dependent on who lives there. 50% is privately owned, 50% local authority.

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts and ideas.

Thanks

we rented a flat for a short period of time on rye Hill park - not in the big blocks (a smaller newish build block tucked away in the corner) but we found the area in general to be pretty quiet, there were often kids playing outside the blocks of flats which was nice to see (and hear). I think the issues will be the same as with any block of flats - there'll be decent folk and A-holes and probably not dependent on whether they're private owners or local authority tenants....

    • Anyone can deliver for Evri - my daughter having just passed her driving test tried Evri to make some money - they basically give you a route and as many parcels as they think you can cope with - you make money for each one you deliver, so you can imagine - speed is the priority. Why would they wait for you to answer the door when they can just throw it and take a photo? If you have a choice, choose a different courier service or shop elsewhere where they do.
    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
