Morning,

We found a black cat with a very injured front leg on Blackwater st. Apart from the leg wound he looks well groomed and fed. We've called the RSPCA and some of the guys arriving for work down there are keeping an eye on him/her until they arrive. IM me for the exact location. Danielle

My 10 month old Black Bengal kitten went missing in the early hours of Friday morning 1 April around Pellatt / Landcroft Road. She's called Miu and she is quite small. She has no collar. She has the rosette and stripe markings but these can only be seen easily in sunlight.

I've attached a picture so you can see if it was Miu you found injured.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Marc,

I'm sorry to hear this- you must be worried sick.

The cat in question was definitely a grown adult we think. weve both looked at the photos and don't think this was her.

SNARL went down in the end to see what was what but didn't find the cat. I'm hoping it managed to hobble home...

I'm astonished at the last two comments. How does anyone know if the OP had a suitable basket to have transported the cat? or if they had transport to the nearest vet (which presumably would be Lordship Lane)? It is incredibly difficult to get some cats into a basket to take them to a vet, let alone when they have been injured and are traumatised anyway. I can just imagine how one of my cats would have reacted if a complete stranger had tried to take them to a vet (possibly by public transport) when they were injured and terrified. I somehow suspect that the people the OP said were arriving for work might not have had cat baskets to hand either. I think the OP did everything anyone could reasonably be expected to do and it's completely out of order for people to be criticising her for actually bothering to do something when many people would have ignored the cat.
I'm sorry - I have a full time job- which I was already late for - and no box for the cat. I was just trying to do a nice thing by putting a post on here. Thanks for your nasty comments calling me an idiot and uncaring. Its really hurtful. I alerted the RSPCA, SNARL and a local guy working nearby. I did the best I could in the circumstances.
Sue- I dons know if the RSPCA turned up. The vet we rang advised us to call them but on my way to work I also messaged SNARL who were able to get down there quickly and gave me an update. So I'm afraid I dont know if the RSPCA made it- no reason to think ill of them from my post.

    • CPR Dave, attendance records are available on Southwark's website. Maggie Browning has attended 100% of meetings. Jon Hartley has attended 65%.
    • I do hope NOT, wouldn't trust Farage as far as I could throw him, Starmer & co.  He's backed by GB News which focus's predominantly on immigration while the BBC focus predominantly on the Israel - Gazza conflict.
    • Everyone gets the point that Corbynites try to make with the "total number of votes cast" statistic, it's just a specious one.  In 2017, Corbyn's Labour got fewer votes than May's Tories (both the percentage of votes and aggregate number of votes). In 2019, Corbyn's Labour fewer votes than Johnson's Tories (both the percentage of votes and aggregate number of votes); and he managed to drop 2.7 million votes or 6.9% of vote share between the two elections. I repeat, he got trounced by Boris F***ing Johnson and the Tories after the Brexit omnishambles. It is not true that a "fairer" electoral system would have seen Labour beat the Tories: Labour simply got fewer votes than the Tories. Corbyn lost twice. There is no metric by which he won the general election. His failure to win was a disaster for the UK, and let Johnson and Truss and Sunak into office. Corbynites have to let go of this delusion that Corbyn but really won somehow if you squint in a certain way. It is completely irrelevant that Labour under Corbyn got more votes than Labour under Starmer. It is like saying Hull City was more successful in its 2014 FA Cup Final than Chelsea was in its 2018 FA Cup Final, because Hull scored 2 goals when Chelsea only scored 1. But guess what - Chelsea won its game and Hull City lost. Corbyn's fans turned out to vote for him - but an even larger group of people who found him repellant were motivated enough to show up and vote Tory.
    • I guess its the thing these days to demonstrate an attitude, in this instance seemingly of the negative kind, instead of taking pride in your work and have standards then 🤷‍♀️
