I know this has been covered in previous posts but have some quite specific worries...my little boy had his 12 month jabs (including MMR as they're now all offered together) on Tuesday morning. He has never had any reaction to jabs previously. He started getting crabby and clingy as the day wore on (gave him calpol as a precaution) and we had a terrible night as he got worse and worse. But then was fine during the day yesterday, gave him calpol a couple of times, same story - worse as day wore on, then a terrible night: very hot, we had to strip him down, and just v upset. Today he's been pretty upset on and off all day and v warm despite calpol etc. I think he's ok 'in himself' but got a bit worried as he was very trembly as we put him to bed, and a bit blotchy - yet reasonably chatty and not that unhappy, and v happy to get in bed and go to sleep. Have read all the stuff about usual symptoms but it's quite general and just not sure if reactions go on more than 24 hours? it's v bad timing as my father in law died very suddenly on Tuesday so we're v preoccupied at the moment dealing with that and feeling a bit all over the place really.

Anyone had experience of this kind of reaction? It's the trembly bit I'm most worried about but am pretty convinced it was shiveryness rather than convulsions.

Belle,

If you are worried please phone you Doctors tomorrow - they are very good about this sort of thing with babies, and I find mine will always call me back and talk things through, and if worried will get me to go down to the surgery, or even come to me.

I have never had jabs cause problems beyond about 2 days personally, though I think for some babies it can take longer for them to get fully back to normal.

I really hope he is better soon.

Convulsions = a loss of conciousness so if he was trembly but talking/responsive to you then this is prob more likely rigors.

Sounds like you've done everything right in giving the paracetamol/keeping him unwrapped and would say he's likely to be on an upward swing now - esp with the symptoms not continuing over the day. You can always use brufen as well if he's still feeling hot or double check your giving enough paracetamol - there are 24mg paracetamol in a ml of paracetamol (3 mths + strength) and you can give approx 15mg per kg your child weighs - using the suggested dosages on the bottle often leads to them being under dosed as these are often conservative.

Really sorry to hear of your loss.

    • Hallo As far as I know  info you have quoted is wrong.  You can phone for an appointment although I have always found it easier to do online. Go to their website for info on how to book appointments Any requests I have made have been reviewed and answered by a GP within 4 hours
    • Nadia did a great job tidying up my very very overgrown yard. (See the before and after photos). I live in New Zealand and my tenants said a neighbour has been complaining about the out of control ivy. Nadia was easy to contact so over WhatsApp, managed to liaise between me and my tenants. Her quote was reasonable for the amount of work that needed doing, and the end result is great! She sent photos throughout so I could track progress. Would highly recommend her to others.
    • My car was stolen a few months back from my driveway but I had a tracker and found it in a private car park in Lavender Hill close to the police station. I was lucky. The thieves hide it up against that eventuality. High spec cars are targeted I'm afraid. The way it was stolen required the thieves to wire in their own computer accessing a front light (which had had a metal sheet welded across which they prised off). They had searched for a tracker but not found it. They also had to cut away a steering wheel lock. They had to come well tooled up and briefed to do what they did. Beating them off is non trivial. As I said, them not finding my tracker was just lucky.
    • Been with The Gardens now for around 30 years and very rarely do I have a problem. I went in to collect a form and mentioned that my leg was hurting and hot- was seen immediately by the Practice nurse who then arranged an appointment on the Saturday with the Extra care service at TJ Centre where I saw a doctor, who then sent me off to Kings for further tests.. I recently booked a flu jab but appointment is in 2 weeks.
