Cassel

Recommended Posts

I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder who runs a Group Setting with two other Childminding Assistant. My property is located in SE22 0RX which and is a couple of minutes walk from two bus stops (63 opposite the property and P12 on Brenchley Gardens). I have a large back garden and fully equipped log cabin with an extensive range of resources. Indoor facilities include a large Conservatory and a separate cot room. Peckham Rye Park is 10 minutes walk away.

A vacancy has arisen for two days per week which could be filled by either another Co-Minder or a Childminding Assistant. The hours are 08.00-6.00 pm (with paid lunch break) and two weeks paid leave (pro-rata) across Christmas/New Year and Easter when we are closed. Hourly rate will be determined by experience of applicant. Only apply through the forum if you already have experience of working with children in an Early Years setting.

    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
    • @first mate I assume Alice made a mistake, as she removed her reaction.  I was wondering about park wardens. As I said, there was one there last night, who was incredibly helpful and proactive. As well as bringing me to the police, he caught up with a young guy on a bike who'd earlier been the victim of an attempted theft by these kids and linked him up with the police too. But I do wonder, as I've only very occasionally seen him riding around, how many they have and what hours they patrol. I've no doubt they'd be a strong deterrent if they had a better presence. They were nowhere to be seen the first time around.  Update: I've just found this: https://services.southwark.gov.uk/community-safety/community-wardens The guy in the photo at the bottom of the page was the lovely warden of last night and I've just now remembered him telling me he's based in Burgess Park. Anyway, there needs to be more of them, as I rarely see one in Peckham.
    • Some of us oldies would associate Grove with the old Grove Vale School (which I went to in the 1950s)
