Hi, Can anyone help? I've just had a warning message saying that I've had an access violation- something to do with my computer inbuilt camera software- oh and my computer camera had turned itself on (been turned on? Eek)

Could any obliging computer-wise people explain what this means, how worried I should be and what best to do? I've got Norton 360, I've scanned and run registry cleanup where it found and deleted an invalid file of some type- but no evidence of trojans, malware, spyware etc..

If anyone can help please be aware I am a computer/techno eejit, so keep it very simple.

Many thanks

OK, well if it was a virus it seems odd that's its targeted your webcam...! Personally I'd go onto the computer manufacturers' website and download the current driver software for the camera and re-install (should be a case of sticking the model name/number in and away you go). If your computer isn't demonstrating any other strange behaviour it could just be that the Webcam driver has got corrupted. I could always take a look at it for a very reasonable fee if you get totally stuck...(07941) 404852.

Good luck!

James.

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
