Hi everyone,

We will be setting up our microphones and hosting a free drop in taster session for all home ED children and their families at East Dulwich Community Centre on Friday 20th May from 10am-12pm.

We're inviting the children to create their own (short) masterpiece to perform on the microphones, complete with DIY sound effects, which we can send to you after the event (MP3 File).

As WordPlay, we run radio drama workshops for children who enjoy writing and performing, and also host podcast clubs where children learn how to plan, host and produce their own podcast. This taster session will be a brief insight into these workshops. We also run private radio parties!

Feel free to bring along something you would like to record (a story, poem, sound art, song. diary entry etc), or pop along and create some audio art whilst you're there!

Check out our website - http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/ and head to 'hear the plays' section to listen to a few radio plays created and performed by children at some of our previous radio drama workshops.

Let us know if you have any questions, or would like your children to attend so we know how many microphones to bring along!

All the best,

Zoe & Leon

    • Bromley is ok but in the last year, shopping centre now has a lot of security measure due to bags being snatched and assaults in or around area in broad daylight - another area where before, felt fine now more alert.
    • Twenty plus years ago, the centre of Croydon was a fine place to work in, sadly times have changed, the Whitgift centre has gradually fallen to its knees, lots of shop closures and unlikely to be redeveloped given Croydon Councils financial situation.  Always preferred Croydon to Bromley and rarely go to either.
