I can't advise on boards but I have a son of a similar age and we have just discovered House of Vans.

It's in Waterloo, entirely free, and gives lessons for five year olds plus. It provides all boards and pads for the lesson. A great way to learn techniques and if you already start to go to the next stage.

Sessions get released every week, about two weeks ahead, around midweek. And places go fast!!!!

Good luck!

A friend of ours runs Rubicon - they rub residential skateboarding and scooter camps (some specially for girls) and also do loads of work with schools.

I think the children have to be 10, so maybe for when your little one is a bit older.

They have a website http://www.camprubicon.com/girls/ and also are on Facebook if you search for Camp Rubicon...I'm sure they would be happy to give advice for getting your daughter into boarding, and what equipment would be best

    • They seem to be having an identity crisis. SD Cafe? Aroma Lab Coffee? Either way, I look forward to the day they have a storefront. I live just around the corner & walk past every day, & I'm still not entirely sure what it's meant to be. For that reason, I'm not surprised if it often gets overlooked by passersby. Prior to all of this, it was Oriental Star - a wonderful Chinese takeout run by lovely people, & we were genuinely sad to see it go. It took a long time to find anything in this area that came close, & honestly, I still don't think we quite have.
