I'm not saying if I have or not. It does not define my way of thinking, so it is irrelevant and nor should my thinking be judged on that. After all, I guess that the lady Woof is talking about is a parent...

Oh, there is a brigade. A rather large one. One that thinks that parenthood gives you some special view upon the world. Not all parents, I would hastily add. Some - indeed most - have a broader view.

Besides, if I don't have the right to make my comments, what right did you have to pick Jah up on his?

Edited to fix some terrible grammar on my part.

Thanks Narnia! And it does annoy me that with all these traffic wardens about, ticketing cars willy-nilly for the most spurious of offences, that they never seem to be patrolling the very place where they can actually make a positive contribution to road safety. I have approached the school but their approach is very non-commital. Which is a shame because they could do more to raise awareness amongst parents and children of the dangers and attempt to deter the culprits.
It seems a bit of a quantum leap to suggest that Jah has no kids because he described Woof as sanctimonious. It sort of implies that someone without kids just wouldn't understand why it could damage the health of a child by smoking inside a car. I can understand why someone without kids may not take this suggestion too kindly.

Dont know what was worse 'Steelman' or the smoke but both is too much. My father was a smoking roger whittaker fan too.

Jokes aside...

Back in the day my Dad smoked in the car, I always hated it . But that was an era where "ignorance" of the facts could be cited

So what shocked me about this woman in Regent St was, here was a seemingly "with it" person who unless they live in a cave must know the dangers of smoking. Especially in a confined space like a car with a young baby, not just having a crafty puff "desperately " out the window, but positively reveling in it, filling the car with smoke

Though who knows, she may have been suffering PND , or her husband had been caught screwing the nanny.

It took me aback somewhat & still does

As for the road rage risk, you're right *Bob* however, I may feel less "advisory" in say Brixton or Camberwell

That's for sure...

    • Nope that concern predates the Jerk festival.  But I am talking about when I first moved to SE London and some locals complained that the nice music was too loud. Separately some people are still moaning about the Jerk festival,  Felt some comments were (casual) racist, but that is a different subject matter. That day was great,  A victim of its own success. A kin to Fatboy Slim playing a free festival on Brighton beach, tens of thousands went but it took a long long time to clean up.
