Found a white dog (cross terrier, we think) looking very lost in the heavy rail today around 1pm.

Called the authorities to take him to Battersea but they are full.

Wanted to let local residents know we found him and have him safely at our house.

If you know of a neighbor who has lost a dog, please let them know we might have him!

I can send images to anyone who wants to know who we have.

I hope to find the owner as he is a lovely, and the owner must be very upset.

Thanks

If your able to get him or her to a vets tomorrow they should be able to check if he has a micro chip which will identify the owner. Maybe try Lomax's 020 8693 4677 at the top of lordship lane by the harvesters. If no luck try celia hammond trust 0208 694 6545they take in dogs and if the owners not found they look for good homes.
A suggestion. When he's a bit happier and settled and you take him for a walk, take him to some parks and see if anyone recognises him and ask them if they knew his owner, or see if he 'leads' you to his old home from the park, probably Peckham Rye Park. Also see if there are any posters on the trees looking for him. I'm a bit housebound at the mo so can't check for you but it may be an idea.

Well the councils dogs department collected him and took him to Battersea Dogs Home.

I feel so sad but with a 6 month baby boy we are already stretched.

So could not continue to look after him.

We will pop round to see how he is on Saturday.

I hope he is okay.

I was driving through forest hill and I caught a glimpse of a dog lost poster on a lamp post(The lights in front of the train station). It looked like a white (scruffy) terrier. If anyone is going near there, have a look.. It may be the same dog.

(If I had seen this topic yesterday I would have stopped and taken the details)

Just signed up on here because of this.

I was in peckham park a while ago and there were two guys putting up notices about there lost terrier. I never found out if they found him - of course this could be the dog that was already found mentioned in the post above...but thought I'd mention it at the risk of repetition.

Anyway - will ask around the park tomorow and see if I hear anythingx

    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.

    • Ugly...maybe..does it bother me..NO! I think its somehow reassuring to see theres still phoneboxes around. East Dulwich may  be getrified but there may well be some elderly people who don't have mobiles and kids who may have lost theirs adults ditto etc etc. I'd rather keep it than lose it...just because i don't use it does'nt mean its not needed.  there are many eyesores in the modern world not all of them as potentially useful.
    • I strongly recommend Balayage salon in Lordship lane as everytime I visit, they make me feel very spicial with thier profisionalism and care.   I have been going there for the last 10 years maybe more, and will never exchange them for any other. They are profisional, welcoming and they also always have an offer. I feel like a new woman every time. X
