I have a very engergetic 6m old boy and today, I discovered that when we have other babies at home, he gets fascinated by them (and vice versa) and therefore is so so happy! Had some friends from out of town come and visit us with their babies.

We go to playgroups and coffee mornings but I have found that playgroups can be a little bit too noisy for younger ones (he gets grumpy after half an hour) and coffee mornings in coffee shops, etc. with other mums and babies don't really entertain him because I can't put him down and let him freely play (although I have a great time).

So, would anyone be interested in getting together regularly one afternoon a week or so at our homes (I'll start hosting initially obviously) so that our little ones can be put down on the playmats, play with toys and generally be fascinated by the existence of other babies and the mums can happily sip coffee and chat?

We live off Lordship Lane near ED Police station.

Hi Amy,

I was looking out for your post after reading the 'Hate to sound like a stalker, but' thread....I've been terrible at getting out and meeting mums so far due to persistent laziness, total exhaustion, frequent panics about sniffles and runny poo etc, inability to string a sentence together AND resultant loss of confidence/identity crisis etc....certainly sounds like being a student again......So if you don't mind hosting a gibbering, smelly lunatic, I've got a little chap who is coming up to 6 months old very soon and we would be absolutely delighted to come over - will PM you my dets....

P.S. Oh yes, mine also gets v. bored when Mummy just wants to chat and his silly Mummy doesn't like to put him out if at all possible

Hi Amy,

I have a soon-to-be 7 month old boy and would be keen to meet up with other mums and babies in ED. We already meet up with mums from our NCT group but they mostly live in Herne Hill so it would be great to meet mums who live a bit nearer. Btw all but 1 of the babies in my nct group are boys so perhaps in 16 years time we can match them up with your glut of girls Radha!

I'll PM my details over. We're on hols at the moment but will be back at end of April and would be happy to meet up soon after.

    • Hi - a friend sent me this link…   The car is neither abandoned nor stolen! (Nor ever has been, so not sure why that has been suggested). It is mine, I collected it from service (and MOT as identified by some on here) on Friday, driving home it had a bit of a hissy fit and broke down! AA attended on Friday, could not recover it until this morning. Spoken to the nice people inside Westminster carpet on Friday who couldn’t have been kinder, I moved the car back from the doors of the property as best I could without blocking more parking spaces. Recovery should be here imminently. Apologies for any inconvenience.
    • That's very odd if they won't answer. Do they just say "no, we won't tell you that"? I can understand they wouldn't want you to get the bread direct from their source instead of from them, but why not just say that? If they baked it themselves, I imagine they would be only too happy to let people know.
    • Possibly one of the other local garage owners may know? Also, it's possible if the owners and staff are still in the area that they might see your post. They didn't post on here themselves (to the best of my knowledge) but they must have known that I did, as a couple of times the lady who worked in reception phoned me to ask me if I could  post in the "Lost" section when something dropped in Hansler Road had been handed in to them. Unfortunately I only have their office landline  number, which presumably disappeared when they closed. Good luck! Hopefully your service manual may turn up in an unexpected place.
    • Well, that was my initial thought too, but having re-read the thread, it seems that the car was left outside Westminster Carpets. Maybe even middle-aged Lotharios can't ignore the low, low prices in their 'Remnants, Offcuts & Roll-End Sale'.   Do you know anyone with a second generation Fiat Punto (1999-2010)? Because 5 to 1, the key will fit.  I'm out of the country, watching the cricket, just now but if you can get it down to the Catford/Sydenham borders in the next couple of hours, I've got a mate who can 'look after' it. It'll be at Tilbury docks by 6 o'clock. Have you ever driven a car with an F1 style, flappy paddle gearbox before?
