I'm a bit concerned (for the dogs mostly) about a man who 'walks' dogs around the Camberwell Grove/Grove Hill Road area (well, that's where I've seen him). In his twenties I'd guess, dark shortish hair. He takes dogs out while he's cycling, seemingly thinking he has right of way over whatever else. Today up the middle of Grove Hill Road, short haired datschund and a mostly white terrier both running along with him. Caused a car - being driven quite normally, to brake hard as he pedalled up the wrong side of the road. Last week with four dogs all on leads whizzing down the pavement on Camberwell Grove missing pedestrians by not very much. Seen numerous time lately with multiple dogs leashed to bike on the road. I might be worrying too much but every time I see him he looks like an accident waiting to happen and someone's dog is going to end up hurt at the very least. So, if you are using a middle of the day dog-walker I'd urge you to check he is walking them in a safe, not stupid, way.

Is it the same guy who has spoiled it for the rest of us down Peckham Delivery Office? I've been wondering what 'incident' took place there for months?

Last year he came down Ulverscroft Road doing this, taking up the whole road with a dog on each side of his bike.

I was driving towards him. I did shout at him :(

If he is doing this on a regular basis I think it should be reported to the police/community police.

Does anybody know who he is? Someone or a dog will get hurt eventually :(

I've been wondering about this every time I've been down recently! Did ask at the counter once but the server was new...I have visions of an armed pitbull on a BMX but don't think that can be right, anyone know the story?

I very stupidly once tried to cycle with my dog on a lead -- oh my god, I knew it was pretty dumb before I set off but my dog gave me those sad "don't leave me" eyes. We made it about one block before I turned back. Super unsafe for my dog, super unsafe for me, and unsafe for others too. Dumb dumb dumb. To attempt this with several dogs is beyond dumb (at least I'm not THAT). I will NEVER attempt this again.

The point is, he is cycling with several dogs at once attached to his cycle.

None of them, apparently, his own.

*Walker, the cycling dog, sounds like a very talented canine*

hahaha...rahrahrah. I tried quite hard to disambiguate that when I wrote it, but you got me. I'm pretty certain Walker isn't the datschund though, her feet couldn't reach the pedals.

Haven't seen him for a few days now.

    • Oh yes, it could have been about there, I can't remember exactly. At one point there seemed to be a load of pizza places opening on NCR. I vaguely remember the one we used to use was put out of business by another one which opened.

    • Hi Dogkennelhillbilly, You won't be aware that i proposed infill sites for housing in East Dulwich - the garages on Bassano Street and Henslowe that respectively became 1-4 Dill Terrace family houses and the 78, 80, 80A Henslowe Street family houses. These were council owned garages and it was frustrating how slow the council was to go from my idea to completion (roughly eight years). East Dulwich has some other vacant WW2 bomb sites I'm guessing that the private land owners have been sitting on.Owe for a land tax for vacant land.  WRT to the builders yard by East dulwich station. Southwark Council has an agreed policy the area should remain suburban 2/3 storeys maximum. But the approved scheme is 9 storeys of student accommodation. Very hard to put this genie back in the bottle. The council has recently publicly stated lower ratios of social housing will be required. I will be amazed if the developer doesn't submit another application now they have the 9 storeys approved but with significantly less social housing. The less social housing the higher the land values. The higher the land values the less social housing viability reports state are possible.  If we really want to increase home supply - Southwark have over 6,000 empty homes. Vancouver charges a low % of the value of empty homes and rapidly eased this problem. Parts of Wales have introduced under Article 4 planning permission is required for second homes seeing within 12 months a dramatic decrease in property prices. Southwark Council have Article 4 requirements - why not add this one? It takes National political will to solve this AND regional and local authorities such as the second home council tax premium and these being used promptly.
    • https://www.letslinkuk.net/ I'm interested to know why the OP didn't find this sort of scheme to work, as I would have thought it was much harder to find someone to do a direct exchange with? Does anybody else have experience of a scheme like this? Happy to be persuaded!
