Mick Mac
Any of you guys know anything about this company and how it is viewed in the music industry? As I undestand it, it is a mechanism allowing musicians without record deals to upload and sell music via iTunes etc without having to have a direct contract with iTunes or equivalent platforms. The musician pays a monthly fee to Soundcloud for the service and receives a payment from itunes etc when their music has been downloaded. Jeremy
We've got our stuff on there - although we haven't paid a subscription, and we haven't looked into selling our songs yet (as if anyone would want to buy them). I think it's too early to say how effective it is as a marketing tool. benjaminty
It seems to have been around for a while. I know someone who has put his material on and sold it through itunes and had his royalties too. No idea how it is deemed in industry but I see mroe and more links to it and a fair few established artsist placing their material on there for play / free download (usually mixtapes) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10792-soundcloud-musicians-platform/#findComment-313598 Share on other sites
