  1. Thanks Dullers. Thing is I was hoping to pay someone a princely sum to just get it done as quickly as possible by a pro... seems people specialise in spraying old kitchens and not new.
  2. Hi Has anyone used a local car sprayer (or other) to prime and complete painting on a newly fitted kitchen? If so with what results and recommendations please? Thanks Ben
  3. Anyone know their stuff with regards to cooking goose? Did one last year and smelled fine.. Knowing I was also cooking a cockerel in the other oven. Just doing a goose now and not smelling great

  5. Whilst I think we definitely need a counter presence; the building itself is an absolute eye sore. Anyone know when it will be bull dozed? Can I help?
  6. Hi All, Daughter is 21 months, we've recetnly been on a holiday where our usually sedate daughter copped a major fit every night she was put to sleep in a cot and ended up sleeping in our bed each night. Upon returning home and thinking all would be OK back in own cot she promptly threw herself out of her cot (in gro bag). We took the decision to convert her cot to her bed immediately. Trouble now is keeping her in her room. After a few days of walking her back into her room 60 times a night (no joke) we've put a stair gate up on her doorway and are now using controlled crying technique; which worked very well in the past at 12 months. Anyone gone down this route? Concerned this might be too much upheaval in such a short space of time.
  7. Hi Has anyone got recommendations for a "full" leather case for an ipad 2 There used to be some on the apple store but they seem to have disappeared. Regards n all that BT
  8. Anyone know which bridges are closed tomorrow due to the Thames Festival please? Nothing on Thames Festival website and nothing on TfL yet. As I work on Southwark Bridge I know that is closed the whole weekend but anyone know about Tower bridge please in particular?

  10. It's not a question as to whether I strike... it's whether I go to another country to stand in and provide continuity of services to clients whilst a strike takes place. Thanks Marmora Man I think you've helped me make up my mind. The country in question has far better employee protection laws than the UK... which is really why we are in this pickle.
  11. The reason they are on strike is that my company wrote to the main union about poential redundancies and the Union chose to ignore the letter. In my view the union have NOT done right by the staff (just my view). If I chose to go on strike and someone else was called in to do my job ... isn't that just my company covering themselves and doing the best for their clients? Would I just expect my company to do just shrug their shoulders? undecided
  12. I've been asked by my boss to go and cross a picket line in another country after a stand off between my company and the unions. The performance of this other country's business has been so poor that it's written off profits made in the UK and as a result very few people in the UK have had a rise in the last 2 years. Would you go?

  14. Has anyone and experience of creating a Facebook Group that is private and doesn't look like a pile of dross? All help I find on the web is out of date after Facebook upgrades which apparently "enhance" their functionality. A good example is this ere number http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=2885240382 All I want is a Wall and Info tab yet this seems impossible. In an ideal world I would simply create a Page but I need this to be covert like. Hope someone can help.

Lido Cafe does good food... go in an evening when it's a little warmer and you can sit by the pool and also avoid the pushchairs. Lombok is OK for what it is. Number 22 well worth a visit... a bit pricey but good tapas (try the deep fried morcilla .... damn good!)
  16. So far 148 people have looked at this link and 7 people responded and in summary: Empty my bins nice flowers on the dual carriageway Handy man service

  22. Just to let you know that I bought several packs of cooked chicken slices at 5pm today from Sainsburys at the Plough and they are all "off" stinking of egg as soon as the packs are open. Phoned them to tell them and they seemed pretty uninterested and don't think they will be removing from the fridge shelves. It may not just be the chicken they are no refrigerating properly so check what you buy... or just dont buy? That's my good deed for the day... good night
  23. I live 4.5 miles from my office and for several reasons it's taking longer and longer to get there by public transport. Today took me 1 hour 20 minutes which is starting to make me think of the alternatives. Does anyone actually walk to the city? How long does it take you?
