Once upon a time people thought Jim Davidson was funny..


Some of us.. well me at least have moved on since then.


I NEVER thought Jim Davidson was funny..

But then I suppose I'm Different to the majority of people.. Which is why I get so much S***e thrown at me on here.

Cos I stand up for the silent majority who have valid points but are afraid to express them themselves for fear

of being put down. Like first time posters who don't return because of a handful of people who think they own The EDF.

I was accused of being a 'Failed Shop Owner' and it was suggested by a certain user here that he was paying my pension.

If I saw that on an advert, it would probably make me chuckle, as I also have a pretty dry sense of humour. If I was spoken to like that face-to-face in an interview, it would be completely different.


BTW... "mummy's boy" does not mean gay. Just because you can find a third word which may have some mutual overlap, doesn't prove your point! TBH I think accusing someone of homophobia on such tenuous evidence is pretty poor form.

Must be nice to enjoy the benefits of a working life in an era where you got paid for keeping the same seat warm for three decades in a comparatively competition-free environment; buying a house for ?10 and watching it appreciate to ?1m through sheer good luck; using this as a cushion to plump for a voluntary redundancy pension (?pension?.. interesting concept) whilst waiting for the state one to kick-in.. and still find time to scoff at other people for having to work over a bank holiday period. Good for you, Foxy.


On the upside, the photo of the first car in the ditch was a great little picture. If there were a little more of that and a little less of this deluded nonsense about homophobic butchers and other general lack of self-awareness - there?d be less of ?all of the above?.


Can I also recommend Pedler, which is also quite a nice place to eat?

I never accused W.R of being Homophobic.. I was uncertain of what the term Mummy's Boy was supposed to mean.

so I did a little bit of research.. and found that it can loosely mean a Gay man.


So this may of been a regrettable Faux Pas on W.R's behalf.


The Ad was certainly open to misinterpretation in view of the rest of it's content.

I'd probably just have to deal with the fact that I wasn't what they're looking for... the same as any other job interview I've flunked (and there have been a few). I'm pretty sure that if I'd interviewed with my current employer while drunk/high/scruffy/crying I wouldn't have got the job either.

Well most city staff drink more than 7 pints a week - but what is a drunk ?

Most men love their mother - but what is a Mummy's boy ?

Drug addicts you don't want - but that legitimises the rest of the list.

Is an emotional wreck a person being treated for depression ??
