Exactly reet, as if there isnt enough choice. BBC only has eight days of golf a year and those of us who love the game really relish Sunday at Augusta. I'm sorry Mick that there is no celebrity reality show on this evening but I'm sure you can find Come Dine with me somewhere.

Ironically my series reminder for Come dine with me has just appeared on screen - but tonight I have to decline. The Masters is my favourite sporting viewing of the year Tone.

It's been an almost perfect day. 25 mile time trial this morning in Kent at 7. Back for lunch in the park with the family in the sunshine. United at 1:30 (would have been nice to get a win). The Paris-Roubaix all afternoon with suitable beer on the side. FA cup semi-final magic then The Masters until bed time! I'm in heaven.

Peter Allis on Mickleson's daughter being congratulated....

He's just my Dad

He may be a superstar to you

But to me, he's just grumpy old dad....

I like Peter Allis and Martin Johnson's column criticising him in today's Sunday Times was way off the mark. Allis is the best british golf commentator there has ever been.

mmm...I think his commentating is ok BUT his opinions for journalists are largely sh1te and far too about his set of outdated values and prejudices...I suspect someone else will do just as well when he's gone and I wouldn't be that bothered if that's tomorrow.

The little Italian amateur sitting in the Butler Cabin waiting to receive his medal alongside Mickleson was wearing his sweatshirt and shiny white trainers.

Most gof clubs in England have a strict "no trainers" rule so that was quite funny.

I've said I've not a problem with his commentary (although it's not actually that informative for us 'non-golfers' who couldn't give a shite about the 19th at Lower Worslingham etc etc etc)but his comment about Woods last week were disgraceful, he didn't say that the Matsers committee should have the balls to bung out Norman who shagged anything that moved or Faldo who hardly kept his clubs in his own golfbag did he? He comes over and is, I suspect, a nasty old home counties snob....

I saw your coment on this already Quids but you are barking up the wrong tree on the racism thing, I believe.

With Woods it is not the fact that he slept around - perhaps Faldo and Norman did too - its the fact that he did it with prostitutes and porn stars. Pre arranged contracts with professionals in the sex industry.

In short, most believe, he let the image of the sport down.

Most people make mistakes in life but Woods was into deviant behaviour.

Well, I think Allis is an embittered old snob well past his sell by date...

He must have said "Does Mickleson get his haircut by the same barber as Jonathon Ross?" about 5 times. All good shots are lucky, etc etc - Ken is infinitely more informative and interesting...put Allis down I say.

    • That explanation sounds highly unlikely!  Surely the "days of the week" plates must be a standard size. I know Royal Mail often appears incompetent, but it  couldn't be that stupid, surely. Was it 1 April?!
    • Looking for a short length of electric (twin & earth)  lighting cable. Most likely there could be some in a skip near you??
    • Southwark's recycling guidance says to put shredded paper in the blue bin in a paper envelope or "small box". I've got far too much of it for that  (confidential stuff going back decades) - thanks to the EDF member who kindly gave me a shredder! It would be a "massive box". I have barely started  the shredding, and I've already got an extremely large bagful.   I've read online that you can put it into  large clear plastic bags in the bin for paper,  provided you  clearly label it "shredded paper" and it is obvious what it is. Does anybody know if Southwark would accept it like that? Alternatively, can anyone make use of it for animal bedding or packaging material or adding to  compost?
    • I'm happy to report that some foxgloves are now looking great in my garden. The bees are loving them. Also managed to grow some corn poppies from seed. I've left some decaying logs in the corner so maybe there are some stag beetles there.
