looking for an au pair

Hi

I was wondering if anyone has any info on the best way to find an au pair. I am clueless and when i search on googley I find a list of a hundred agencies and I'd like to know if anyone has any experience and who the best agencies are or is it better to advertise on the forum etc instead. I was also thinking of advertising in language schools.

Also any idea on costs or living expenses appreciated. My kids are 2+ and 4+

Dulwich village have a newsagents board with au pairs and nannies etc.

you can put your own advertisement card for about ?1 a month.

We've used ABC Au Pairs before - and if I remember correctly, they are/were based in Dulwich.

We used Universal Au Pairs for our current au pair and they seemed fine. The girl we have this year is excellent.

www.gumtree.com is a great place, you get loads of replies really quick. you can advertise and look at nannies adverts for jobs too. I think it's definately worth a go.
