I have probably been there over 15 times and have never been asked for proof of address.

xxxxxxx

Was that recently? The Rosendale Road tip has all changed since I last used it. It only takes recyclable stuff, for a start.

Well done you.

Southwark and Lambeth councils have an agreement that residents from each borough can use the others waste/recyclnig centres. Both are close to the others borders.

If you have a problem using the Lambeth Rosendale Road site please record the time, date and email me. Ideally aks the Lambeth council officers name.

Rosendale Road has never asked me for ID either but they don't let Vans in. The one off Walworth road does allow vans but you need to have ID. Full details of the Walworth Road place are here:

Thanks, James - this is really helpful - I have wasted a lot of time trying to work out how to take stuff to Manor Place on my way to work as it is so much less convenient than Rosendale Road - I have also asked Southwark to fetch stuff that I could have taken to the Lambeth recycling tip had I known it was allowed. But what can we do with rubbish that can't be recycled?

    • I don't know how it works now but my late parents had little money when they were retired (just state pension and they rented their flat) and they used to take their cat to the Blue Cross (In Victoria if I remember correctly) where treatment was free for those who could'nt afford a private vet. I sincerely hope similar is available still because for many elderly their pet is their main source of comfort and company.
    • In a couple of places locally, I have come across this. I am fairly sure that they attempt to do the bill in their head. If you just say , “no, I think it’s x” they start again and get to an agreeable number, or find a calculator. I don’t think it’s a malicious attempt to swindle people. Just not great arithmetic.
    • There are excellent charities like the Greenwich Wildlife Network who will help if you report any concerns with local wildlife. Foxes are wonderful creatures who had been forced into our town and cities and are just doing their best to survive, we should take care of them when we can.
