Where to send a fax from?

Hello, a bit old school but I need to send a fax today any ideas if any LL shops do this service. Thanks

Usually most people are happy with a scan or photo of the doc which is then sent by email

I don't think the library offers a fax service now as most people send documents via email, which can be done using the library computers. You can also scan your document using the library photocopier free of charge to a USB device.

Unless you have a dial-up computer (!) you cannot send a fax directly from your PC but you can create a document there and then use one of a number of services to deliver it via fax technology.

Be careful giving your payment details to efax. I used it 10+ years ago but more recently it seems to have discovered a new business model - see p5 of the report linked below.

I had to send a fax a few months ago and went to Dulwich Library but their machine was out of order at the time so they suggested I went across the road to the dry cleaners (up from Sainsbury's Local) and they sent my fax for me and were actually a bit cheaper than the library would have been.

Having a dry cleaner send a fax for you sounds Eighties (and 1880s too). But there's a charm to that we're otherwise missing nowadays.

If you have a home scanner/printer style device, most of them will work as a fax (if you can get it plugged into your phone socket).
