Keep it simple, compliment your wife, thank everyone, say something nice about your new in-laws and then get out of the way to let the best man entertain everyone.

Don't read out people's letters etc. Life is too short for that

If you'd prefer something different then sing a song, do it in rhyme, include foreign languages, use poster-sized photos of your wife as a child / teenager.

As all the above, keep it as simple as you can - mine consisted of "I'd like to thank so many friends and family for coming, I'd like to thank Susan for making me so happy and I'd like to give you a toast - to love, and may it last for ever!" Went down OK. Your wedding day's the one day in your life everyone looks after you, just enjoy it and don't worry about trying to put on a show. And the very best of luck!

    • Today, after pressure from backbenchers, the goverent did a u turn on PIP cuts for the disabled but they are now proposing that existing claimant won't be impacted but new claimants will face a higher barrier to get PIP.  Therefore two people with the same condition and difficulties in day to day living might get treated differently depending in when their condition started.  This equates to an unfair two tier system and seems an ill thought knee jerk reaction. Please contact your local MP to ask them to vote against changes until it is properly thought through and disabled people are consulted on proposed changes.
