Domme_Jay
A strapping and robust plant, looks like a euphorbia but I don't think it is.Jay Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/110248-can-you-id-this-plant-help/ Share on other sites
Sue
I think it is a kind of euphorbia, but I don't know which one. A wild one I think. If it has thick white sap then it is (but take care because the sap causes nasty blisters if you get it on your skin and the sun shines on it).ETA: Here you go. Petty Spurge. Euphorbia Peplus. I think!! http://wildflowerfinder.org.uk/Flowers/S/Spurge(Petty)/Spurge(Petty).htm Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/110248-can-you-id-this-plant-help/#findComment-1008760 Share on other sites
Penguin68
I agree they look similar, but from the photographs the Euphorbia Peplus is much smaller - so it may well be an Euphorbia (looks like it) and the warnings about the sap are very relevant but I don't think its the Petty Spurge - the OP's example seems to stand 19 or so bricks high - a brick being about 3 inches that's about 4.25 ft - 4.5 ft (taking account of mortar). Petty spurge seems to grow to a height of under a foot and is described as a weed. This seem smore like a bush. http://www.luontoportti.com/suomi/en/kukkakasvit/petty-spurge Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/110248-can-you-id-this-plant-help/#findComment-1008771 Share on other sites
cordsm
I think it's a caper spurge (which is a type of euphorbia). It's a weed and grows quite high. Deters moles, not that they're a problem in London:)http://wildflowerfinder.org.uk/Flowers/S/Spurge(Caper)/Spurge(Caper).htm Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/110248-can-you-id-this-plant-help/#findComment-1008826 Share on other sites
gatt4950
What's the weed underneath the main plant? We have lots of that sprouting everywhere. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/110248-can-you-id-this-plant-help/#findComment-1008912 Share on other sites
