If you had said bread and wine, we would have laughed harder. Thanks for the spelling tips, really helpful in an age of spell checking, so wat u write aint your own anyways....so....your point ? Daft really, bit childrens playpen, bit EDF drinks snub, bit........zzzzzz

So anyway get some marrow in ya otherwise its just a shallow bone with a dubious bag of somerfield salad. And brenda stop carrying her bags.

as for the s.....check the tables next time ? And rosie you sound a little bit ranty yourself dollycakes.

Now must go , the lib con demnation has started and I must jump in. Rock cakes anyone.

I LOVE this thread. I have NO IDEA what it's about, but I love it.

To summarise though: lots of us like cakes, we bake them in a variety of ovens, and jenny1840 doesn't like the new government. Would that be about the size of it?

Or is there a cunning political stunt that I haven't spotted?

Yes.....

I'm a cunning stunt ( apparently )

See MrBen's thread in "About the Forum" section, it's very nearly as funny however, Jenny1840 does seems a little disorientated today as she posted ( see below ) this in my "seminal" Rubbish Thread ?

She comes across quite eloquently ( for somebody who seems to have their tongue stuck in the neck of a WKD bottle )

I'd love to hear her recite the poem "She sells sea shells"

Bless her

Well that's why thinking is dangerous boys. Do neither of you bake ? maybe you could all get a little cake stall at the fete, you could all hold hands , display you coconut fancies , with your ban the booze bunting and your flashing sign for the neo christian ministry of the EDF.

And no I love the new government its finally made sense of that funny liberal bird on their triangles. Obviously a Cuckoo.

Tweet twit.... hugey.

"We" jenny? My name is legion for we are many?

Or "We" as in royal, aristo-anarchists?

And if you don't want spelling tips, don't dish them out (incorrectly) yourself sugarlips.

"I'm not a pheasant plucker, I'm a pheasant plucker's son, and I'm only plucking pheasant's till the pheasant plucker comes"

I thought this was a satire originally, or a parody. But it doesn't seem to satirise or parody anyone.

It's not even really parodying ED either. ED is transparently left wing - not right.

It may be poking fun at the coalition, but I don't think ED will care. EDers tend not to be ideological and don't wear political parties like identity badges. Most sensible Lib Dem supporters see the coalition with the Conservatives as an opportunity to pull the Tories left rather than the LDs right.

I think the sensible money is on compromise, not conflict. Some left wing dinosaurs would prefer to cut off their noses to spite their faces!

AFN would like ED to be a conservative heartland, as it would suit her need for an enemy at the door. ;-)

Either way, here is Blueberry and Lemon jam - it's very tasty, very healthy and full of consummate goodness:

Ingredients

* 4 1/2 cups blueberries

* 6 1/2 cups sugar

* 2 teaspoons lemons, rind of, grated

* 1/3 cup lemon juice

* 2 (3 ounce) envelopes liquid fruit pectin (Ball Fruit Jell)

Directions

1.Prepare jars and lids according to manufacturer's instructions.

2.Combine blueberries, sugar, lemon peel, and lemon juice in a large saucepot.

3.Bring to a rolling boil over high heat; stir frequently.

4.Stir in pectin.

5.Boil hard for 1 minute.

6.Remove from heat and skim foam (if necessary).

7.Immediately ladle into hot jars, leaving a 1/4 inch headspace.

8.Cap and process for 15 minutes in a boiling water canner.

What's with all the political grandstanding snorky? Why do insist on trying to politicise this thread, and with ken clark accuracy too. So stop pondering on the where's and why fore's or even the other thing and just join in with the dulwich fete discussions in a community based way.

Now that jam is perfect, I just need to find a recipe now for yellow corn fed turkey with eton mess stuffing ? There having a fusion stall run by 'a black man' I think Dave Macaroon met him on the campaign trail and he is going to be the special guest.

Er....sadly only you and your misguided attempts to sound clever would discover homophobia in that comment. And as for you leagle , think before you type, chambers logic please.

It is well known that eton prefects have in the past courted sexual favours from the younger newer intake. The analogy is therefore thus, that the liberals are the wet behind the ears and the cons are effectively dormitory prefects who will dominate their younger starry eyed libs.

That's it. Your homophobia comment is as mispaced , arrogantly purile and clearly lacking in all areas of intellect.

Or put another way, that's my boot in your balls.

Now a recipe for blue tuna fish pie with a hint cuckoo's liver anyone?

Fag, a junior boy who acts or acted as servant ("fagging") to a senior boy at a British independent school. It's you that's calling the Lib Dems fags, I've made no such assertion.

If you aren't aware of the coalition agreement, and the elements on it from the Lib Dem manifesto, then you ought to read up on your subject.

If you are simply suffering from blind obstinacy, then I'm surprised you see that as a positive quality.

If you're just being cynical, then I would remind you that you're the one who thinks that now Labour are in charge of Southwark that Nunhead is going to get all their wet dreams at once.

more drivel, they only put their yellow cuckoo hands in the air at a hastily convened meeting yesterday, with Nick in front of a big camera pining for the days of Britain's got talent election special.

I suggested that libs are more likely to be sucking cock at cabinet table than turning the cons to the left. You silly boy that you are used a term that if your liberal mates used in the USA ( and now that you are suddenly big into Trident you will no doubt be best mates with them soon) you would find the reaction anything but liberal. As for nunhead , you dinner lady you, it does not have any shopping list, just 14mil to spend on regeneration. Could you refrain from responding unless its something worthy.

Do you have any recipes for toad in the hole by chance ?

    • Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering.  This is blooming genius. It's actually my partner who has the biggest issue with buying in plastic so I will have to hide the wrappers from him!
    • I like the look of SD's Sweet and Sour chicken. It's a really good dish when made freshly and well. I'll need to try it. Sad that Oriental Star and Lucky House by Dulwich Library both closed at a similarish time. They were decent, reliable, "British Chinese" takeaways.
    • William S Spicer was a family-owned firm that initially made horse drawn delivery carts for breweries (especially Fullers Brewery in W London) and horse-drawn trams. With the advent of the internal combustion engine, they successfully made the transition to coachbuilding delivery vehicles London's leading department stores using German engines. WW2 interrupted their business for obvious reasons, and their postwar attempt to become the local assembler and distributor of Bulgarian "Izmama" trucks was not blessed with good fortune. In 1953, the company pivoted to being a full-service garage, leveraging their reputation for honesty and excellence.  In 1972, the Dulwich site was sold to its present owners. William S Spicer III (the grandson of the founder) retired to Lancashire, where he founded a sanctuary for the endangered ineptia beetle, which he had encountered in Bulgaria while travelling for business. In 1978, Spicer was awarded an OBE for conservation, and a newly-discovered  beetle was named after him by the Bulgarian People's National Academy of Sciences - Byturus Spicerius.
