And, of the rest, most are comprised by nominations from each sovereign government. The same sovereign governments so beloved by the Leavers. And the European Council is comprised of the 28 heads of government of the EU member states.

Oh, and 'faceless bureaucrats'? The EU has about 55,000. The UK has about 440,000.

It always amazes me how little about the EU the people 'against it' know.

Farage.

What does he do? He doesn't design or make anything. He doesn't build anything. He doesn't grow anything. He doesn't offer a service. He doesn't fix anything, or indeed even offer any advice as to how a thing might be fixed.

He spends fifteen years stamping on something - until it breaks. And then he buggers off, leaving everyone else to clear the shit up.

If that's someone who deserves some sort of 'due', well.. I'm out.

Well he helped to get people thinking... He helped to get people talking.. As did Boris.

They helped to bring about the Biggest turnout in history .. to vote..

Other wise we would of just plodded on as we were for ever..

So whether or not Brexit goes ahead.. There will be a lot more discussion..

and things WILL change.. The UK will have more say and.. 'We wont get fooled again..'

We were all missled by both sides..

I made my mind up in 1975. This recent referendum (in my mind ) WAS the second referendum and a chance to put things right after 40+ years of E.U rule. We gave it a good run.. but it wasn't working for Britain.

DulwichFox

yes, things were certainly put 'right' in the referendum, that's for sure.

In the same way that you put a car on a bumpy road 'right', by veering swiftly off track and driving over a cliff in the dark.

Excellent strategy. As long as you don't give two shits about the future of the country.

We haven't left yet.. The country is still IN The E.U.. and the mess it is in has been happening for some time..

The UK has been going down the pan for years.. not a week..

Now.. for the first time we can put it right.. Our laws.. Our rules...

..and I do give more than 2 shits (as you eloquently put it in your usual manner) about the future of MY country.

OK bring on that referendum on Capital Punishment

NOT :)

I'm curious about what laws and what rules youre talking about, the ones you seemed to want to reject in such a way it's damaged your country

Explain please, I'm at a loss here

I'm not a fan of Farage or Johnson. I'm certainly not a fan of Cameron who also threw his toys out of his pram

when he did not get His own way and bottled it when he is the Leader (PM) and should of stayed on and dealt with things.

And as for Corbyn.. ? FFS. we need to get rid of the lot of them...

No wonder Brussels was able to walk all over us...

There is no one out there with any balls..

You seem pretty sure all our problems are due to the EU. Others disagree.

Well in the future we will find out who is really to blame. You're convinced it's those nasty foreigners, I reckon a lot more of thoE problems are home grown - why don't British people want to do all that fruit picking jobs around Peterborough? Any idea?

You've condemned the future youth of this nation to the future you think they should have.

It's not just your country, and other people will have to live with the consequences of your ill-informed decision for much longer than you.

You really are one of the most arrogant online presences I've ever encountered.

I blame foreigners for nothing.. I'm happy to use Polish , Hungarian , Black workmen in my home..

I'm happy to eat / drink in any restaurant and be served by people of ANY ethinic origin.

I'm happy to be seen to my any doctor / nurse what ever their nationality

I welcome skilled people who have something to give.. This country depends on them..

So DO NOT play the race game with me..

So I am convinced of nothing as you suggest..

Is that right ?

The Commission, which is the Executive ie makes all the decisions ( headed by Junker) is unelected.

    • Highly recommend Dulwich Eco Gardening.  When he came to quote Saied said he’d give our garden back so we could decide what we do next.  Under two weeks of hard work from Saied and Mo and we have the garden back and can see paving I’d forgotten about. Not only did Saied remove our very overgrown greenery. Nature had taken over. He also took back to our fence line overgrown ivy, apple and pear trees and and dealt with a neighbours bamboo that had invaded our garden.  We are now going to get quotes for what we do next so those quoting will be able to see the space.  Saied has suggested someone to quote and will be coming back when he does in case he has any questions or they can work together.  I thought Saied would be a good choice and he was. Quotes from others didn’t leave me with confidence for the end result. That was never a concern with Saied.
    • Having a BBQ (fingers crossed) in 2 weeks and need a small BBQ for veggie bits and any spare benches or garden tables and chairs to borrow to add to mine. Any going? Thanks in advance...
    • Oh dear, hope you are OK, I've had it three times and it was worse each time, but not a patch on many of those who got it before they vac' role out. Not commenting on the discussion as I got confused many days ago beyond the reminder that Corbyn would not compromise and the harm that could lead to him, the party and regards Brexit pre and post referendum the country.  Starmer goes too far the other way at times.
    • I am  ill in bed with Covid. It's not that I "can't be bothered" to read things. I am feeling crap and don't have the mental  energy at the moment. I am not "brushing stuff aside and pleading ignorance." I am truthfully saying when I don't presently know enough about something to be able to comment. I have always been very careful to try to  differentiate between fact and opinion in both  my posts and other people's, and I am not clear what your point is. And I am certainly not trying to wind anybody up. This is a forum. If you don't want to respond to my posts, that's up to you. I'm not sure why you feel the need to announce it.
