Twice this week I've seen scared lost dogs separated from there owners. The first I keep on thinking about and hope it's ok as it was running around near a main road. I was unable to gain it's trust to check the collar and it ran off frantically. The second had only just run away from some bigger dogs and was promptly reunited with her relieved owner, which was nice to see.

Does anyone know the best technique to gain a lost dogs trust?

They are always so scared and anxious that they don't want to be approached. In the past I've tried the old "what's this in my pocket" trick hoping they will be enticed by the prospect of food but they are always far to anxious and usually run off when approached.

    • Agreed. Just stating as a historic fact they tried to stiffle reviews.
    • A quick assessment on having a barter scheme amongst the community. An exchange of goods and services may be really helpful during these difficult times.    I wonder if it’s something that someone would be willing to set up separately and link to the forum? Or perhaps  an additional aspect of the forum itself if it was easy to include? I don’t have IT knowledge to set this up unfortunate, but I do have skills that I could offer. From past experience, it would probably work best as a direct exchange rather than coupon credit.    I may be flaunting the rules by posting on this twice, admin please feel free to delete one if this is the case.

Thank you for stepping up.   whilst I’m here, I was thinking it would be a good idea to have a barter scheme amongst the community. an exchange of goods and services may be really helpful during these difficult times.    wonder if it’s something that someone would be willing to set up separately and link to the forum?
