Goose Green school has a tour conducted by the headteacher on the first monday of every month during term time. This coincides with a PTA coffee morning and gives prospective parents the opportunity to have a cuppa and a chat with parents who have children already at the school.

We don't put every one of these dates on the forum but the next one on Monday 7th June seems like an ideal chance for those parents whose children have been allocated a place for Sept/Jan reception places to come and have another look around, meet the Head and parents. There is no need to book, just turn up at the entrance gates on Tintagel Crescent at about 9.15am and the lovely ladies in the office will buzz you through.

Of course this is not exclusively for new reception starters but anyone who is interested in a school place for their child.

We hope to see you there

Just wanted to remind any parents who have been allocated Goose Green that this is a great opportunity to chat to parents who are already at the school. I know that last year some people found talking to parents with children at the school invaluable. Feel free to bring your children too. It's pretty relaxed, and there are biscuits....

Just a reminder that this is on Monday. The PTA hold a coffee morning for parents and carers on the first Monday of every month during term time and the Headteacher Sharron Marland also attends for a chat and to answer any questions we may have. She then conducts a tour of the whole school from nursery to Year 6 for parents and carers of prospective pupils - a chance to see the school in action and to ask our Head about any aspect of school life. We welcome those taking the tour to join us before and/or after the tour.

See you there

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!
