Please don't bump threads

Recommended Posts

Whoops, I haven't been paying attention for a day or two.. too much work and much too much nice weather at the weekend!

But it seems it's time for the regular reminder not to bump threads - it's not fair artificially to keep your item for sale at the top of this busy board.

I've hidden quite a few this morning - apologies that I haven't had the time to PM the people in question, but if you're wondering where your bumped thread went, it's because I hid it.

cheers

Another reminder - please stop bumping your posts. I'm currently seeing quite a few people bumping theirs daily.

I understand that sometimes sellers have deadlines and it makes them feel that their ad is more urgent or important than those of other people. However, this is a very busy board and the only fair way to manage it is not to allow bumps. I will continue to hide excessive bumping posts where I see them.

cheers

Hi prd - I agree that that board is too busy, but moving to the local businesses section which is also busy would just transfer the problem rather than solving it.

Fuschia's suggestion is sitting with Admin - it seems like a good idea, but creating a new section for the forum takes quite a lot of time and effort. Please bear with us in the meanwhile, appreciate your patience.

    • Hi Han92-ED, Have you taken a look at the Dulwich Park Runners?   They're super inclusive and cater for all levels and are very sociable. https://www.dulwichparkrunners.co.uk
    • Is it still operated by the Post Office though. I took this photo of a poster in the Post Office in September announcing the running of LL Post Office would soon pass to a franchisee ZCO Limited. Is the current chaos a result of that?
    • I think it’s depends when you go in as well. I’ve been in a few times in the last month and I haven’t had to wait more than 10 minutes.
    • Hey all 👋 I’m fairly new to running and have (perhaps ambitiously!) signed myself up for a half marathon later this year. I’d love to find a few others who are also just starting out and fancy running together in a relaxed, non-intimidating way.  The idea would be a very low-key, beginner-friendly run club — lots of jogging, walking breaks totally welcome, zero pressure on pace or distance. I’m particularly keen to create a small, supportive group for women who might feel more comfortable running as part of a group, especially around the park. I was thinking of doing gentle runs around Peckham Rye Park to start with. If that sounds like something you’d be up for, give me a shout — would be lovely to see if there’s enough interest to get something going 😊
