Flying ants in my compost heap

Great, something to distract me from my overall mailaise.

Apparently a good thing, but I shouldn't have turned the heap as I'll now wake with loads of little bite spots. Makes a change from the mossie's I suppose.

They are everywhere, crawling out from cracks in the pavement, all over the garden, the cat, my hair, but no thunder bugs as yet, which means we just have to tolerate the humidity a little longer and stay away from the compost.

Anyone here remember Fraggle Rock? with Mr McKay? didn't they have a surreal singing compost heap? that would cheer you up malumbu, a little anarchic mischief making muppet fashion?

Obviously warm and dry beards, with no predators (do you keep anything else in there titch) are particularly attractive.
