Wanted: after school childcare 2 days a week

Recommended Posts

We are looking for after school care for our two children (a boy aged 5 and a girl aged 2.5), two days a week starting in early September. Ideally Wed and Thurs, but could swap one of those days for a Fri.

It would involve picking them both up from Bessemer Grange school (on Nairne Grove) at 3.30, walking them back to our house in North Dulwich (a 10/15 min walk), preparing a light tea and generally playing with them and looking after them until we get back at 6.30/7. No need to take to after school clubs or supervise homework, just a bit of reading with our son.

Happy to consider various arrangements, eg another Bessemer parent or a nanny who would like to bring their own child, joining a nanny share, we just want the children to be looked after in their own home after school by someone warm, fun and with childcare experience. We could also look at adding extra hours if that helped.

Please send me a PM if you're interested.

Many thanks

Laura

    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
