I'm wanting to set up tax and NI contributions for my nanny & am wondering which company to use. There's Nanny Wage in Croydon or Nanny Payroll based in Corby. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences to relate about using either, or any advice/ cautions... The former costs ?115 per year, the latter ?190! I'm wondering why the big difference.

Many thanks in advance.

We use Taxing Nannies and they're fantastic. Always extremely helpful on the phone when I ring in with questions, always polite and our payslips, P60's etc and all correspondence is always clear and written in plain English. Our nanny has never had cause for complaint on them either as far as I'm aware.
Similar topic - has anyone who is self employed managed to claim back any of the costs of a nanny vs taxable income?? I know that prima facie it is not deductible (per my accountant) but thought/hoped some aspects might be, from conversations with other parents in the past.....

    • The gap between brick house and Gail’s was exacerbated by COVID.
    • It’s irrelevant to compare Corbyns vote to Starmers. They were two different elections with two different turnouts.   The only relevant comparisons for Corbyn are how many people voted for Theresa May and Boris Johnson. A lot more in both instances. As such there would be nothing fair about him winning.
    • It is not Labour Party members who elect Labour governments, as it certainly isn't Conservative Party members who elect Conservative ones. It is all those who are not party members who actually make up the sufficient numbers to elect governments.
    • Thanks for these responses. Yes, Cllr Browning & Cllr Hartley did a door-knocking exercise a couple of months ago. It was Maggie Browning who knocked and I told her that I'd had radio silence from Jon Hartley. She looked embarrassed but not surprised. I have spoken to him since, only after writting to Ellie Reeves, our MP about it his lack of response. He agreed to address the issue I asked about but I've not heard from him since. It's really not acceptable for an elected Councillor to consistently ignore his ward constituents. Since it's clearly not a one-off, I'm gonna pick this up formally. I'll let you know how I get on...
