Hire a carer for a day.

Does anyone know if it is possible to hire a carer for a day?

I have done so, but in another town. Some private home care companies will offer per diem arrangements. Often to cover a regular carer's abscence.

I need someone to pick me up from hospital after surgery but have no-one to do it. I am struggling to find any such service. Any ideas much appreciated.

If you were over 60 you may get support from Dulwich Helpline but assuming you're not maybe you could ask for a volunteer on here, specifying the date etc.

She is just that - whether it be de-cluttering, childcare, gardening relative visits, walking the dog - she is lovely and very reliable and has worked with people who are ill and need help. i am sure you could get a carer for a day. my friend works as a carer for the elderly so i would just call some of those agencies and enquire.

Agencies generally do not let staff pick people up from hospital and not all carers have cars.

When I had surgery my husband just called a cab company to pick me up from Kings.

Would you qualify for hospital transport home?
