  2. I think it?s really shocking that Southwark dont offer ?catchment? guidance. Lewisham sent a really clear email with exact catchment information. We are expected to choose schools for our kids having never set foot in any of them. There needs to be extra information published to assist with this difficult and impossible process.
  3. Siemens Fridge freezer in good condition ( silver) used as a second FF ?150 DM me for photos as can't work out how to embed!
  4. We're running a pop-up tea room in the new Ivydale school on Inverton Rd tomorrow 11-4pm serving home made cakes. Do swing by if you're doing the art trail.

  6. Rowena has a facebook page an extra pair of hands - below is the section about party help; Party Hostess- add some sophistication by having an extra pair of hands to help ?15 per hour per person ? Are you planning a party be that in your home, hall, garden or pub and are panicking about socialising with your guests whilst looking after all the children, preparing and serving the food, ensuring everyone has a drink and and and...stop and breath! Hire me as an extra pair of eyes and hands to ensure everything runs smoothing. Would you like someone to serve drinks and food, keep an eye on the children or even look after the children so you can enjoy yourself. Then, the best bit...clean up afterwards! Available weekdays, nights and weeken
  7. Rowena from an extra pair of hands is lovely. She does party help. She has a website.
  8. He didn't buy the meat and told them in no uncertain terms that they shouldn't be selling potentially poisonous meat.
  9. My husband went into to the co-op on Lordship lane and bought some meat from chilled cabinet . When he got to the till the cashier asked him if he was planning to eat the meat today. When he asked why that was relevant he was told that the fridges had gone off overnight and they weren't sure how long the fridges had been off. My husband asked to speak to th manager and told him it was dangerous to sell meat that had not been in the fridge - they said they were in the process of throwing some of it away. Don't buy meat from there today!
  10. If you've got kids starting at Ivydale in September you'd be very welcome to come to our summer fair on 1st July 1-4pm
  11. It's such a bold decision- and I think I understand it if you've tried school and it really doesn't work for your child or you're planning on sailing round the world. what I don't get is how and why would you make that call based on no experience of today's incredible primary school education? To deny your child a potentially amazing childhood at school with all the life enriching experiences and friendships that it entails boldly marking them out as 'different' for the rest of their lives is such a radical thing to do on their behalf. I understand that the 1 to 1 education will surely advance them academically- but have to question why a parent wouldn't choose to do that alongside mainstream education should they so wish. I'm not trying to be provocative I just don't get it. What's led you to make that decision?

  18. Just email the school and ask - it was supposed to be finished before term started but the council contractors have run over which is out of the school's control I guess. I was thinking how hectic everything must look for new parents but once it's all down there is actually a lot more space and everything feels a lot calmer at drop off!
