bonniebird
Did anyone see the massive dead fish in the pond in the park today? There was a smaller one too. I knocked on the old rangers hut to tell someone, but no one there, so I phoned the park manager left her a message and emailed her asking for someone to check it out (the pond) but I am away now til Sunday so won't be able to see of anything is done :'( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11822-dead-fish-in-peckham-rye-park/ Share on other sites

HAL9000
bonniebird - why did you feel so compelled to tell the park manager about this? And what did you expect him to do about it? And why? Forgive me if I've missed the point here. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11822-dead-fish-in-peckham-rye-park/#findComment-333003 Share on other sites
cate
In case they were poisoned? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11822-dead-fish-in-peckham-rye-park/#findComment-333006 Share on other sites
hpsaucey
Well, I guess for one thing they would want to rule out poisoning the pond water for example if enough fish were seen floating there. elloriac
I would imagine that bonniebird thought the park manager might remove the dead bodies before they rot and fester away. Also, those dead fish might be an indication of low oxygen levels in the pond - though that's normally only seen in warm weather, which we haven't been lucky enough to have yet! The parks people can normally pump oxygen into the water if this is the case. (this happened where I used to live and the park mgmt posted a notice telling people to contact them if dead or distressed fish were seen) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11822-dead-fish-in-peckham-rye-park/#findComment-333012 Share on other sites
